Chapter 13

As I explained to Sam what happened he nodded throughout it.

"Damn, that's crazy." He added as Katrina rubbed her hand up and down my back.

I nodded and wiped my eyes and walked out the door.

•Next Day•

I woke up to the buzz of my phone. The hospital! I snatched my car phone off the dresser and heard the familiar voice of Colby's nurse float from the speaker.

"Hello, Ms. Kathryn, Colby's nurse Helena calling. Just wanted to let you know that Colby is ready to come home today."

"Really? That's great! Should I come pick him up or...?"

"Colby's friend Sam is on his way to get him."

"Alright. Well, thank you so much!"

I hung up the phone and rolled out of my bed and crawled to the closet to fish out a baby blue romper, some ankle adidas (usual)  and gold rim aviators (favorite) because after I saw him we were DEFIANTLY going out. I remembered the date that me and Katrina had set up last night atop of my house. I'll explain when the date is happening. I heard my phone buzz

Brennen: Hurry and come get Colby, I can't wait to see what you planned.

G:I know I'm on my way.

B:Still doing makeup?

G:I don't wear makeup, you know that.

B:Hurry up then! 😬

G: I'm leavening now.

I clicked my phone off and rushed over to my car with my keys jingling in hand.

•The House•

I walked in when I was greeted by Elton and Corey.

"Where's Colby?" I whispered.

The pointed to the couch where he was next to Sam on Rocket League. I walked over to them and sat next to Colby.

"Hey, how are you?" I asked, grabbing his arm lightly.

"I'm doing alright." He said with a raspy voice.

"I thought you would be happy to see me too!" I heard a voice from the doorway.

"Amber?!" I ran and hugged her.

"Hey." She stated casually.

"But- how? They told me it would take at least 3 days!"

"Well the blood was easier to replace than we thought." She laughed and shrugged.

I held her again. She was cold but her embrace was warm. She whispered to me.

"Go on your date."

It sent chills. I looked at her and smiled, then made my way over to Colby.

"Hey, come with me, I have a surprise." I said as I grabbed his and and lead him to the car.

•Back Home•

I walked into the house and blindfolded Colby.

"No peaking!" I laughed as I guided him to the sliding glass doors.

When we got there I pulled it off and let him soak it in.

"Wow, for me?" He gasped.

Admin:Yay your back! 😁

Colby: why you gotta cliff hang like dat? 😭

Grace: Don't worry it's gonna be good. I think 😕

Amber: At least I'm not dead.

Admin: Go celebrate. I'm tryna end this so I can do something productive.
