"Damn, Kris," Charlie says while laughing. We were sitting on the floor of our hotel room, Chinese takeout scattered on the ground in front of us. We had an amazing view of the Vegas strip from the large windows we were sitting near.
"I know, right? And that's how I earned the nickname Glue Girl in the second grade," I finished and made him smile.
He yawned and checked his phone.
"Oh my, God," he says and shows me the time. 2:43 A.M.I laugh and shake my head, looking at the twinkling lights and alive nightlife of Vegas.
"You ever think Las Vegas goes to sleep?" I ask Charlie, who shakes his head."There's always those crazy people who stay up until 2:43 A.M. and talk about embarrassing childhood stories," he says and glances over at me. I smile and look at him and then back at the city.
"I guess you're right, those stupid, stupid people," I remark and make him smile. I rest my head on his shoulder, gazing down at the lights.
"We should go to sleep," he whispers and I nod my head in agreement. He helps me stand up and I change clothes in the bathroom. I decide to take a shower in the morning but take my makeup off.
I crawl into bed and check my phone one last time just as Charlie begins to change...right in front of me. I clear my throat to get his attention.
"Can't you do that in the bathroom?" I say and slide under the covers.
He smirks and takes his shirt off. I watch as he turns to me.
"Nobody said you had to look," he remarks slyly and undoes his belt. I quickly slip my head under the covers to hide my eyes and hear him laugh."How rude," he teases and I scoff from under the blankets.
"We just met," I quote him mockingly. He lets out a sarcastic laugh.
"Ha ha, I regret nothing," I hear him brag. I roll my eyes under the covers, wishing he would see.
"You're good," he tells me and I peek my eyes out from under the sheets slowly, just in case he is lying. Instead, he is still shirtless, but is wearing basketball shorts. He plops down onto his bed on his back and sighs up at the ceiling.
"I feel like I've known you forever," he says nonchalantly. I smile over at him, a little confused, even though my heart is beating a million miles a minute.
"Thanks?" I say and he sits up, smiling contently at me.
"Well, I mean, I'm just so comfortable around you, I don't know I'm probably crazy," he shakes his head to himself and I smile softly.
"Alright, then," I approve and go back to scrolling through my phone. Secretly, the butterflies in my stomach are going insane. But he can't know that.
I place my phone on the nightstand, cuddling under the covers. I close my eyes.
"Goodnight," I say quietly and hear him sigh and crawl under his covers. After a few minutes, or hours I'm not sure, I'm still awake. I can't sleep. I never really could after a show and not to mention all of the thoughts of Charlie racing through my head.
I hear him get out of bed and shortly, I feel the side of my bed drop like he'd sat down. I feel a hand on the side of my head, stroking my hair lightly.
