Will be updating randomly this week if I can

"Hope I'm leaving in two weeks. "
Silence.
"Hope? Are you angry?"
Silence.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner I just... Oh. You're asleep. " Kyle looked down at her. That's why she wasn't answering, because she fell asleep. "Damnit. "
He didn't want to wake her up, but he had literally just worked up the courage to tell her and probably wouldn't be able to do it again. Kyle stopped thinking, closing his eyes and letting himself fall asleep.
-
"Kyle wake up. " Hopes small hands pushed his shoulders around until he opened his eyes. "Its raining, can we go on another walk?"
Kyle rubbed his eyes and nodded. "Yeah, um, after we eat something. " Hope smiled and rolled off of the bed.
"Well, we don't have any food so maybe we can go out and get something. "
"Okay. Let me just run by and get my shoes from next door. " He was still really tired so he slowly threw the blanket aside and got to his feet. "I'll be back in a second and then we can go. "
"Alright cool. " Hope smiled widely and led him out of the house. Her smile dropped as soon as she shut the door, and she sighed.
Kyle was leaving in two weeks.
Yes, she heard him. She chose to pretend not to because it actually upset her a lot and she was way too exhausted to talk about why he didn't tell her sooner.
As much as she didn't want to admit it, it's kind of perfect timing. She goes back to work in a few days and will probably be doing a lot of overtime to make up for her absence. That's why she decided to try and do everything with him without telling him why.
She shut her eyes and pushed herself again from the door, going into her room and then closet to find something to wear. She had already stuck her hand out the window this morning, so she knew it was pretty chilly out.
The first thing Hope saw was an old maroon sweatshirt, so she quickly threw the one she had on off and across the room and replaced it with the sweatshirt. Hope decided to just put some leggings on a call it a day.
She heard the front door open a few minutes later so she hurried to finish tying her shoe and ran out there with a smile. "You ready?"
"Yeah. Um, I brought the umbrella. "
"Alright, well we can just use that one because I don't feel like taking the other. " Hope slid her keys into her pocket and stepped out the front door. She locked it before turning towards the elevator.
"You're in a good mood today, something happen while I was sleeping?"
"Oh, no, I just, well. I know that you probably won't be here for much longer so I want to spend as much time with you as I can. " She was hoping he would tell her.
"Oh, makes sense. " He smiled awkwardly and pushed the door open, letting her go first before following and opening the umbrella.
"When do you leave, Kyle?"
"Um,-" as if Jesus was on his side, a car drove by, going through a very large puddle. Hope screeched and jumped towards Kyle, half of her body soaking wet.
Kyles hand flew up and covered his mouth. "Oh my gosh. "
She frowned and looked at him. "I'm wet now Kyle. "
"Come on we can go back and you can change. "
Even though it was rather funny, the whole situation just made her kind of sad. It was like she made a huge effort to be okay and the whole thing was washed away.
He put his hand on her back and tried to urge her back, but she didn't move. "Come on Hope. "
"Why didn't you tell me you were leaving in two weeks sooner Kyle?"
Kyles heart dropped.
"How did you know?"
"I wasn't asleep Kyle. It's not that hard to pretend to be. "
"Well why didn't you say anything?"
"Because it made me sad and I thought that if I chose to ignore it I wouldn't have to think about it. " He smiled slightly, confusing Hope. "Why did anything in that sentence make you smile?"
"Because the fact that me leaving for a few months make you sad makes me happy in an evil way. "
Hopes eyes were brimmed with tears but she blinked them away. "Alright. " She turned on her heel and started back for the complex.
Kyle's long arm grabbed her hand and pulled her back suddenly, making her fall into his chest and almost send both of them to the floor. "Jesus you really do just fly. "
"I'm small Kyle. " Her head was buried in his chest so she was muffled. "The wind makes me fall. "
"Look at me. " she looked up. "Did I upset you by smiling?"
"No, you upset me by leaving. "
"I'm not gone yet sweetie. " he kissed her forehead gently before smiling.
Hope then had the sudden urge to stand on her toes, wrap her arms around his neck, and kiss him.
So she did.
Kyle gladly kissed her back, overwhelmed with the electricity and happiness it brought him.
They both have been waiting for this for a long ass time. And guess what?
It's finally happening.
