Chapter Five:

As my eye's open I witness the heart-breaking scene in front of me. Amanda cries uncontrollably in Aiden's lap whilst Kieran holds my hand with his own tears flowing down his cheeks, and I just lay there, in the hospital bed. Motionless. Soundless. Dead to the world.

Wait!  If I’m there, how can I see everything when my eyes are shut and I’m on the other side of the room?

Immediately running to Kieran I begin screaming at him "Kieran! Baby please stop crying I’m right here!" Whilst waving my hand in front of his eyes but it does no good. His eyes remain glued to my paralysed body. "Why can't any of them see or hear me?" I say out loud to myself.

"Because you're a spirit Lauren!" An unfamiliar voice says from behind me, where as I turn around I notice a woman with red hair stand in front of me. "What do you mean?!" I ask in disbelief.

"Your body is beginning to shut down, meaning you’re dying; but I’m here to tell you it's not your time yet!" She explains as she touches my shoulder and gives it a supportive squeeze. But all I hear from that sentence is that I'm dying. How can I be dying? All I did was fall on the grass! "Don't worry you're not going to die! I will heal you with plenty of time to spare but first I need to show you something before I return you to your body" She adds as she holds out her hand to me, signalling me to take it, which after much hesitation I do and suddenly I find myself back at the party at Josh's house.

"Why am I back here for?" I ask the woman, whose name I have yet to learn. "You've been on a life machine for two months now Lauren and the doctors have been close several times to turning it off; but whenever they did you began making progress before slipping back down again!" She explains, her eyes never leaving mine. "Okay, but that still doesn't explain why you brought me back here?" I ask.

"Watch the scene as it plays out in front of you! You need to know what happened to your friends so you understand what I will show you after!" She instructs turning my head towards the scene where we were all danced as couples.

"So what do I have to exactly keep an eye out for?" I ask, "Just watch what happens when the fight breaks out" She instructs as she watches Amanda and Aiden dance with a smile on her lips, making me question her motives. Although, I still follow her instructions and watch the scene that took place two months ago...

Just as Cody took the gun out of his leather jacket and aimed it at Kieran, I pushed him out of the way sending us to the ground, although just as we began falling Cody's bullet grazed the back of my head leaving me dizzy with spots of un-noticeable blood dripping from the back of my head. As soon as that happens Tobias picks a fight with Lucas who immediately becomes agitated and begins punching him senseless whilst Roxy does the same to Alison. Whereas, Cody unsteadily walks towards Aiden before saying "Didn't do to bad there Younger, for a crazy tramp she sure will make you look good!" Where with that remark Aiden tackles Cody to the ground, leaving Amanda exposed to the danger in front of her as Peter threw a knife her way. Luckily, she managed to dodge it, allowing it to fly at the dart board that hung on the wall. However, distracting her from the danger that she was in was me on the floor as she rushed to my side trying to get me to concentrate on her, but my eyes remained fixed on the fight in front of me. Where Ethan who was straddling Peter's waist after seeing the knife scene with Amanda, began joining in on the fight; however Ethan soon lost that battle as Peter drew another knife, but from his boot this time and set it in Ethan's leg, who let out a very manly painful yell as Peter snapped Ethan's leg as police sirens were heard. Once everyone picked up on the police sirens approaching they began scurrying from the area, which is when Amanda managed to get my attention and tried to help me escape, however just as we were about half way to the car, she noticed Elizabeth has Madison in a very death promising head lock and was forced to go help her leaving me alone by myself, but not before Tobias made his appearance known where we had a small debate, before I passed out. Making him sprint out of the scene as Amanda saw him and began screeching un-intelligent things at him as she rushed to my aid, but by the time she reached me along with the others I was already unconscious. "KIERAN!" She screeched as he took out his phone whilst placing his hand on my forehead. "I'm already on it and she's burning up!" He answers her as I hear him asking for an ambulance. "Come on Lauren!" Elizabeth pleads as she notices the blood on my head, making her pull off her jacket and place it behind my head. "She's going to make it right?" Amanda questions Aiden as he pulls her up allowing my unconscious body space to breathe. Although instead of answering her, her only answer is complete silence as they try their best to stop the bleeding, whilst Lucas and Roxy try their best to carry Ethan towards the scene as he too is unconscious but unlike me Ethan has a disorientated leg with a knife sticking out of it.
