Chris

"Class, today-"

I opened the door to my Biology class, stopping the teacher mid-sentence and stepping into the classroom.

"Ms. Mason, you are late again. Need I remind you that punctuality is important in this school? Again?" the teacher said.

"Of course not, Mrs. Jacobs. I wouldn't wanna waste your saliva on me." I smiled without shame.

Everyone in the classroom started snickering and when Mrs. Jacobs sent them a glare, they all shut up.

I had to stop snickering myself. Mrs. Jacobs looked back at me and sighed. "Just take a seat, Ms. Mason. And don't be late again," she warned and I hurried to my seat.

When I sat down, I felt something cold from underneath me, and then suddenly cold water poured down from on top of me and I gasped. I guess my gasp was loud enough because all eyes turned to me even the teacher who was going back to her lesson.

"Is there something wrong, Ms. Ma- Oh, my goodness!" Mrs. Jacobs exclaimed covering her mouth when she saw me soaking wet.

I gulped before looking at the person behind me. Of course. Blake freaking Phillips.

Son of a...

He was smirking evilly at me. The nerve... I turned slowly to the front. My breathing became uneven.

Coldwater? Really? I can do so much better. Just you wait, Phillips.

"May I go to the bathroom?" I said.

"Of course." Mrs. Jacobs said.

Thank goodness.

I sighed. "Thank you," I said numbly with my teeth starting to chatter and left the classroom, fuming.

"Hey, what happened to you earlier? You didn't go to class again." Jess said, approaching me.

But my eyes were currently elsewhere. My eyes were scanning the cafeteria for a certain blond hair with blue eyes. I saw him enter with his three other douche bag of friends and for a second, my eyes landed on a certain green-eyed boy.

Ugh.

All four of them sat down at their usual table and without another word, I stood up from my chair and sprinted toward them.

My heart was beating with rage as I got nearer and was able to hear their toxic laughs. They stopped bickering the moment they saw me.

I stopped right behind Blake. They all turned to me with knowing smiles on their faces.

"So... How'd the bath go? Was it cold enough?" Jeff joked and all three of them (Blake, Jeff, and Cole) snickered.

Landon kept a straight face.

I glared at them. But smirked nonetheless. "Actually, I was going to ask Blake that," I said.

I was very aware of the cafeteria quieting down. But I didn't care.

All three smirks turned into a frown and a confused expression. I picked up Blake's drink and took the cover off and surveying it.

"Ohh. Coke. Nice choice." I said with a wink before pouring it over Blake's head. Gasps were heard all around the room. Cole's jaw dropped, Jeff's eyes went wide and Landon looked amused. Well, he should be. "Too bad it's wasted," I stated before putting the cup back down beside Blake's tray. I gave out a dramatic sigh. "I hope the coke tastes good." I smiled before walking away.

"YOU WERE SKIPPING CLASSES AGAIN?!" my mom shrieked.

"Look, I wasn't skipping on purpose this time!" I said.

"Really? What would you have to say for yourself right now?" she demanded.

"One of Landon's friends played a prank on me. A very lame one at that," My mom gave me a look. "He made me sit on a chair with cold and I mean really cold water! So of course I had to run to the lady's room and change." I said.

"Yeah, okay. And what is this about you pouring coke on a boy's head?" she asked.

"I was trying to get back to him," I said with a sigh.

Disappointment etched all over my mom's face. I looked away, unable to see her look like that.

"Just go to your room. Have you eaten dinner?" she asked.

"No." I slammed the door shut before she could invite me to eat dinner.

Dinners not in me tonight. Just the thought of food makes me want to vomit. So, instead of sleeping I pulled out my phone and dialed Marlie and Jess. That's when I sneezed and my nose felt as if something was stuck in there and I couldn't breathe properly.

"Hello?" Marlie said first and Jess followed.

"I'm sick," I said without any second thoughts.

"What? Why? What happened?" Marlie asked.

Jess cut in and told her the whole story. By the time the story ended, my eyes were drooping.

"Hey, Chris. You still there?" I heard Jess ask.

"Just come here and see for yourself," I said weakly before hanging up and drifted to sleep.

Damn you, Blake Phillips.
