CHAPTER 11
Luke comes back into my room ten minutes later.
"We are gonna leave a little early and get breakfast on the road," he announces.
I nod my head and smile, "I'm ready."
He gives me a boyish grin and comes up to me. Unexpectedly, he throws me over his shoulder. I kick his chest repeatedly, but I know it doesn't hurt him.
"We are taking two cars. You're with me," he declares.
Oh wonderful. I'm going to be in a car alone with Luke. When we get to the car, I notice our bags in the backseat of the car. It's not one of the Range Rovers', though. It is his black Hummer. Brayden is driving Savannah because there wasn't enough room in Luke's car.
Tossing me in the passenger seat, he closes my door and heads over to the driver side.
"Looks like we are going to be leaving before Savannah, so we get to eat first," he expresses.
"Sounds good to me. Where are we going to go?" I ask.
"How is Chick-Fil-A?" He replies, backing out of the garage.
"That's perfect," I look out the window.
He looks over at me and grins yet another boyish grin. A Chick-Fil-A shows up quickly on the left. Luke pulls into the turning lane and pulls in Chick-Fil-A. We hop out of the Hummer and go into the restaurant.
Luke opens the door for me and he follows me inside. There is no one in line, so we order our food right away. While Luke gets our coffees, I go locate an empty table. He returns surprisingly with both food and drinks. Smiling, he sits down across from me at the booth and slides me my hot coffee.
"How far away is the camp?" I wonder.
"Only about an hour and a half," I replies, slurping up some of his beverage.
We make small talk and eat our foods. Luke is actually really funny.
Once we finish our food, we head back to the Hummer. Luke opens the door like a gentleman, which takes me by complete surprise.
"You know you didn't have to open the door for me," I tell him once we get in.
"I know. I just wanted to," he shrugs, "you and Savannah are rooming together, right?"
"That's what we planned. I really don't want to room with some stranger," I shudder.
Luke chuckles and shakes his head, "You know? I think that we are going to be really good friends this summer, Barone."
"Oh, you think so, Mr. I-don't-know-your-last-name," I giggle back.
That gets a big laugh from Luke, "It's Anderson."
"Luke Anderson. Interesting," I say out loud.
The ride to camp feels really short, but in all reality it is a very long carride for myslef. Carrides always feel so extensive, even if they aren't. As soon as we get out of the vehicle, Brayden shows up with Savannah. I guess they weren't as far back as I thought they were. When Savannah takes that very first step out of Brayden's Range Rover, two very pretty girls come sprinting towards her, chanting her name.
"Laura! Chloe!" she shrills back. I guess Savannah has a lot of friends here, "I brought a friend, who may or may not be going out with Luke." At her last sentence, I give her a friendly glare and she winks one eye at me.
I walk over and assure them that I am not going out with Luke and introduce myslef. Laura has darker skin than Chloe, but still not that dark. Her hair is kind of short and it frames her face in a genuine way. Chloe on the other hand, has lighter skin (but not pale). Chloe's hair is very beautiful, and I am jealous. It is brown, but has pale streaks of blonde running through it. I find out that Savannah and I are roomates and Laura and Chloe are sharing a room.
