It rains outside, the sky's sorrow mirrors both of their pained hearts.

And they both look outside a drop-stained window, under the same sky yet miles away.

Grayson has tried calling him, tried to call his mother who whispered a small 'sorry' to him as respect for his privacy and Grayson could only nod his head in understanding.

And Ethan, he began with the utmost suspicion about the situation. Questions about what really happened, if they had hurt each other or if, god forbid, Jack had hurt him. So Grayson really does tell him what happened in the room.

"I messed up," he says, staring at his own knees.

When Ethan asks for an elaboration, Grayson finds it hard to explain- Hell, he has a hard time figuring out his own feelings, let alone explain them to his brother.

"I think I hurt him," it suffices.

When Ethan asks why and how, Grayson takes a long time to answer and then some. It's too difficult to squeeze a reply out of Grayson now who ponders in his own mind and Ethan sighs, leaves Grayson alone.

He eventually seems to care less, seeing that history has in fact repeated itself and that it was pointless to try to save their friendship again. Besides, he has.. his own love problems to deal with.

It is summer, it is Summer, but the sky patters above them almost every other day and the clouds are pregnant and the sky dark, heavy, looming.

Grayson thinks about her, her pale eyes and her dark hair and how this whole drift began with her. He wonders, for a brief moment about how she is doing, whether she has graduated school yet, whether her skin is still pale and powdery as a white daisy or sunkissed now. And then he regrets it, for she was the one who betrayed his trust. Jack had said, that she suggested the sex, the betrayal, the cheating and Jack, his dear Jack, said yes out of exasperation, jealousy, desperation.

Motivation seems hard to come by in the house now.

Grayson's daily life seems marred with guilt, but somehow Ethan tops the depressing phase with a closed up attitude and a temper that threatens to let loose at the smallest things.

They smile at each other at breakfast though, Grayson's banana pancakes between them with maple syrup all over. Ethan, still, remains grateful, for having him.

In the afternoon they pick up their tiny go-pro cameras and they cuff a hand to each other, Grayson's right to Ethan's left. Grayson takes a snapchat of it and they post that, before starting to film.

It feels a little tight, because Ethan tugs wherever he goes a little too hard and pulls Grayson along with him too selfishly and Grayson being himself tries to resist it with strength. It works and then doesn't work, because Ethan's mood gets progressively darker, steeping heavy and as they pretend to bicker lightly for the video as they attempt to do a new challenge, Ethan pulls his hand so harsh in the right direction where Grayson is caught off guard and finds himself stumbling, fast, and slipping too hard.

He falls with a bare shoulder hitting against the sharp edge of the counter and lands on his knee, of course taking Ethan with him.

It is completely normal for them to fall and stumble and wrestle but this was different, there was a volcano threatening to erupt inside of Ethan and it was leaking in this way, taking his anger out on Grayson and their filming.
