*Daisi’s P.O.V*
I always has a smart comeback or a witty remark, but as I saw Sami’s coffin being lowerd into the ground, no funny thought came to mind. Only sadness. Not one word was spoken amongst the small pack as her coffin disappeared into the ground. The rain fell softly as everyone said their individual blessings, once it was placed and tossed in their black rose, Sami’s favorite flower.
As I walked up, my teeth gritted in anger, “I’ll kill ‘em all Sami. I promise.”
The silence was deafining. But suddenly a soft sniffle caught my attention, knowing it was so rare for a were to cry. My fists clenched as Sandra Lee Garcia, Sami’s ‘mother’, came into view. The same mother who held a funeral back home for her fifteen years ago, because she didn’t want an ‘animal’ for a daughter.
It all happened to us, except Unica apparently, but Sami took it with a smile and a ‘Fuck you too.’ We didn’t know how we got this way at first, but it was then revealed to us by Unica it’s an air-bourne disease that picks it’s targets.
I walked to the coward and snarled, “What are you doing here? Isn’t one funeral for Sami enough for you?”
Her eyes looked frightend at my harsh stare, “Daisi you couldn’t understand. Sami was my pride and joy. When she told me she was a …” I had a distinct feeling she was going to say monster but thought against it, “I just lost it. By the time I came to my senses she was gone. No trace until now. Gibby sent me a letter.”
My upper lip curled in distrust but I turned away and swiftly walked back to my seat. My little sister Diana had tears welled up in her eyes, I felt a faint pride in her as she blinked them away.
“I’m gonna miss her Daisi,” she whisperd softly.
I wrapped an arm around her in one of my rare hugs, “I know kid. Me too.”
