Beep Beep Beeeeeep

Bridgette let out a loud sigh as she forced her eyes open to find her phone. The sun shown brightly threw her thin, sky blue curtains which made Bridgette cringe for a split second. After her eyes adjusted she focused her view on the time.

12:46pm. "Shoot, I need to finish packing!" Bridgette sprung out of bed as fast as a bullet. If there was one thing Bridgette hated more than anything it was doing stuff last minute. She really couldn't help but procrastinate this time around, she hadn't been able to stop daydreaming of LeakyCon since she had purchased her Rockstar ticket back in October. Bridgette's daydreaming just continued to get more worse as July 28th had gotten closer.

"Wow. Only a little over 24 hours until I step off of a plane in Orlando, FL." Bridgette could not focus on anything but LeakyCon.

This will be her first year going to LeakyCon, or any Con for that matter, and on top of that she will be traveling alone. She's heard that most people travel alone to LeakyCon and make more friends as soon they arrive.

She's thankful for all her friends on twitter, as well as her new friends she had made in the LeakyCon Facebook group. Everyone was so helpful to one another with questions for the week. Questions like, what to pack, how to manage your time wisely, and who to room with.

Racing around the room, Bridgette grabbed all her favorite clothes from closet and laid them out on her bed. "Now if I'm going to be meeting friends and special guests, and taking pictures and shooting vlogs all week, I'm gonna have to look supermegafoxyawesomehot at all times." She murmured to herself as she matched up outfits for the entire week. Bridgette wasn't usually the girl to try and out do everyone with appearances; she mostly just wore outfits that made her feel her best, be it sweats or a sundress. Something was different about this trip though. It's not like she felt like she had to impress any of her new friends, more like she wanted to make a good impression on the special guests.

Bridgette was just an ordinary, introverted and insecure, small town girl, who never dreamed of traveling outside of the old, tan-colored pages of her favorite novels. Books, to Bridgette, were more than just made-up fairytales, and far away lands with heroes that could never be real. These stories were her home, and the characters were as real and alive as the world we're in now.

To be able to actually go to a place where there are so many people just like her was a thought she could not fathom. A place where everyone grew up in the same "fictional" worlds with the same "fictional" friends, and would not look or judge each other weirdly as the real world does so very often.

As Bridgette threw a few bright and colorful sundresses, a couple pairs of sandals, some fandom tees, and her Slytherin attire into one of her suitcases, she softly sang "To Have A Home" to herself:

"To think it's been here all along, somewhere to belong and a reason for something to believe in. I've finally found it, a place where I'm wanted. This must be how it feels to have a home."

She stopped in her tracks, clinging to her favorite navy blue and floral, silk dress as she belted out the next few lines of the song:

"I used to dream about it, but never schemed or counted on fantasies or wishes. It breaks a man to see what he misses. And so many nights I've prayed for a better life, and a better day. But I never thought that I'd come true, It's finally here and I don't know what do, and I'm trying not to cry. This must be how it feels to have a home."

Bridgette could no longer fight back the silent tears of joy that were streaming down her bright red face. She finally will understand the true feelings behind these wonderful lyrics that were so perfectly written by Darren Criss. She can already feel them and the journey hasn't even begun.
