On the bus ride over the gang got to know the girls a bit more, and the girls became more comfortable around the gang, realizing they are just normal fans themselves.
"So, it's 9am now, if we happen to split up let's all meet over by Harry Potter world after lunch- or should we just meet for lunch?" questioned Dylan as they walked up to the front gate of Islands of Adventure.
"I think we should plan on meeting for lunch at one spot, but if it just so happens that some of us don't quite make it over in time, we should definitely meet at the front to Harry Potter world at say 1pm." stated Brian Rosenthal. "That way we can all explore it together and have time to get to the rides over there before all the extra ones come in at 5. You know that they will all go straight to the new Escape from Gringotts ride to get through the line before they close."
"Okay, let's say we do lunch over by Marvel?" Mere suggested, they all agreed and headed into the park. Right off the bat everyone decided together to go to Jurassic Park River Adventure as their first ride. Throughout the morning they traveled from Jurassic to Toon Lagoon to Marvel of the park,, spending a good amount of time for everyone to see what they wanted to see, check out the shops, rides, and take pictures with the superheros and villians around Marvel. Around 12:30pm they all headed to the Captain America Diner for lunch as planned. During lunch Brian made sure to grab a seat next to Bridgette, since they had all been hanging out together he really hasn't gotten to spend anytime just the two of them that he wanted. "So, what ride has been your favorite so far, girls?" Jim asked right before he took a bite of his delicious chicken sandwich.
Bridgette wasn't paying much attention because Brian kept distracting her by nudging her slightly under the table, after she realized what he was doing she started playing back, disconnecting herself from any conversations that were going on.
"I don't know, it's a toss up between the River Adventure and Ripsaw Falls" answered Sam. "Yeah, I personally like the Jurassic River Adventure. Although I can't wait to go on the Hulk roller coaster after lunch. What about you, Bridge?" There was a slight pause as everyone glanced towards Bridgette who was quietly giggling with Brian Rosenthal. Holden, who was sitting across from them kicked at Rosenthal and gave him a subtle look as to calm down.
Bridgette saw his reaction and politely excused herself from the table saying, "Uh, excuse me, I just need to get some air. Sorry" Bridgette forcibly pushed out her chair and walked out the door in a bit of a hurry.
"Smooth move, Holden. You don't see me getting all upset when you and Mere flirt and carry on all the time when we are all out." Rosenthal said abruptly as he ran after Bridgette. As he got outside, she was already gone. This emotion of rage and worry soon came over Brain as he searched for Bridgette. He was running past the Super Hero Island when he saw her out of the corner of his eye, she was looking out onto the lake to all the other parts of the park.
"Bridgette," Brian said softly as he rested his hand on her shoulder. "Don't touch me, Brian" said said in disgust as she stepped away from him. "Bridgette, if I did anything wrong, I'm sor-"
"It's about Holden, I heard you guys talking this morning in the lobby." She now turned around, and Brain could see that what was said earlier had made a big impact on her, and understood why she hadn't been acting the same as yesterday all morning.
"Listen, Holden is trying to make sure no one gets hurt. Fans act like we are the best thing in the world, and it can be mistaken for actual feelings towards the real us, and not just how we act on stage. And like he said this morning-" explained Brian. He was soon interrupted again but Bridgette, "But you said that I was young, and just a fan. Is that how you see me? As no more than all the other girls?" Brian was at loss for words, how could she think that.
"I shouldn't have said those things, I'm just confused. This is all happening so fast, I don't want to jump into things just to have it be a one week thing." Brian reached out and hugged Bridgette, then he continued, "How about we slow things down and spend the next few hours getting to know each other, we can explore the rest of the park together."
Bridgette stepped back from the hug, letting go of Brian, "I think it would be best if we just took some space, this is all a lot. If Laura and Sam still want to hang out I won't pull them away, but maybe we can all still hang out during Open at the Close tonight. I'm sorry, Brian. I'm going to go tell the girls. I'll see you around" She left just like that, walking back to the diner where the rest of the gang were standing outside since they had finished eating. She explained to Laura and Sam that she wanted to take some space from Brian, and the girls decided to go with her so she wasn't alone. And just like that Brian was left alone standing by the lake. How could this have happened, he thought to himself, it's all Holden's fault, if he had just kept his mouth shut and stayed out of Brian's business.
After giving him a few minutes, Tessa walked over to see if Brian was doing alright. "She'll come around, how can anyone stay upset at this handsome face." she said with a chuckle, trying to ease the tension. "She heard what I said this morning, about her being a fan, and what Holden said about not getting too involved." He put his head down in regret of what he had said this morning. "Brian," Tessa said trying to comfort him, "if she heard all that, surely she heard you explain how you truly feel about her." Brian began to smile, and soon they walked back to everyone else. Tessa always knew how to cheer people up, that's what's so special about her, no wonder Joe was crazy about her
