Trick or treat

"Come on Ereeen, Put it on! Armin's mother is here to pick us up!" I groaned, pulling my arm from Mikasa's grasp. "Fine, I'll put it on!" I said, and pushed Mikasa out of my room.

I put the red and white striped sweater down on the bed and started to change. The last couple days Mikasa had been headlessly running around, trying to come up with costumes for the both of us. I didn't actually care for the whole dressing up part, but to Mikasa it seemed to be a pretty big deal. However, as she settled for mulan, I had to choose between Waldo and a fucking minion. Of course I chose the first one, not wanting to dress up as the worlds greatest abomination. They really topped the list of things that should not exist, probably scoring higher than pineapple on pizza.

I finished dressing and put on the red and white hat, and black round glasses. I walked over to my mirror and looked at myself. I sighed at the thin, bruised and messy-haired figure staring back at me. With those round glasses I would probably pose better as Harry Potter. An invisibility cloak would also come in handy if so to say, an awkward moment would appear. I neated my hair down a bit, turned around and walked out of my room, going down the stairs to find Mikasa and Armin. They were both sitting in the living room, already dressed up in their costumes as Mulan and Link.

"I'm done," I said, lifting my arms from my sides to show them my costume. "Eyy, looking good!" Armin said, grinning. "Except your face.. who's mean enough beat up Waldo when they first find him?" I rolled my eyes at him and started walking towards the hallway.

"You know, I could cover it up for you, only have to ad-" Mikasa started to say but I cut her off.

"No fucking makeup!" I called, putting on my shoes. I heard Armin laughing from the living room.

"Get your asses out here, didn't you say we have to leave?" I shouted, a bit annoyed.

"Coming!" Mikasa called and came running in to the hallway, Armin following closely behind her.

We arrived at Hanji's house about thirty minutes late because Armin's mother had to stop for gas, and she didn't let us leave until she had explained, in detail, what we were allowed and not allowed to do. Even though she wasn't our parent she had always acted like it, being just as protective with Mikasa and me, as she was with Armin. After twenty painfully long minutes of her talking, we rushed out of the car and waved at Armin's mother as she drove away.

"You gonna listen to what she said?" I asked, looking at Armin curiously.

"Not a word." He grinned and started jogging towards Hanji's house. I shook my head and looked over at Mikasa, her eyes were sparkling. I had never thought I would see her this exited, ever.

When I turned to look at the house, I immediately understood Mikasas reaction. The house was fully decorated with all kinds of statues and lights, making every other house around look bland in comparison. Hanji's front garden had even been dug up to make it look like the zombies sticking up from the ground were crawling out of it. "That girl is way too serious about this stuff," I said, shaking my head. Mikasa laughed and ran off after Armin.

When walking up the stairs, I was greeted by a blonde guy wearing plastic armor and a tall, black haired guy wearing a 'free hugs' sweater. I greeted them and opened the door, wincing as soon as the loud music filled my ears. There were people everywhere, shouting and laughing, dancing and drinking. They were dressed in all kinds of crazy costumes, making me feel slightly less embarrassed about my costume choice.

I searched the room, frustrated when I didn't find anyone I knew. Everyone seemed to blend together because of their costumes, and since almost everyone wore a mask or had something on their face, it was impossible to recognize anyone.

I started walking further in to the room, trying to find either Armin or Mikasa, figuring they would be easy to spot since I knew who they were dressed up as. I pressed through the crowd, feeling the heat and sweat from their bodies as they rubbed against my arms, back and possibly every other part of my body. The crowd started thinning out, but suddenly I bumped in to a blonde haired guy wearing a Superman t-shirt, almost loosing my balance.

"Oi, sorry dude.. H-hey I found Waldo!" He slurred, pointing at me with his cup, almost spilling his drink all over me.

"Guys, I found Waldo!" He shouted, making a few heads turn towards me and cheer along with him.

I sighed, quickly walking towards the next room. The music was a bit lower there, making it possible for people to talk to each other without having to shout. I scanned the room and sighed with relief when I saw Mikasa standing at the end of the kitchen, talking to some people.

"Ereeen!" Connie said, grinning at me as I walked up to them. He was dressed up as Luigi, and sure enough, Sasha was next to him wearing a matching Mario costume, eating chips and holding a cup filled with a blue liquid. I smirked at them and looked over at Marco, and who I guessed was Jean. Marco was wearing a police officer costume, really giving of the 'good cop' vibe, while Jean was wearing a spiderman suit and mask.

"Can you even breathe in that, spiderhorse?" I asked, laughing when Jean flipped me off. I looked to my right and saw Armin holding a cup out towards me. I accepted it, looking down at the pink liquid filling the cup.

"What is it?" I said, frowning at Armin. He shrugged, "dunno," and grinned at me. I shrugged as well, taking a sip of the drink. It was sweet with the taste of cherries, the alcohol warming my throat as I swallowed. "It's good right?" He said, excitedly. I nodded, "It's alright."

I hadn't exactly drunk a lot of alcohol in my short life, My first encounter with it was when Armin, Mikasa and I was about thirteen; we were home alone at his house, having another one of our sleepovers. We 'accidentally' found some of his father's alcohol and decided to taste it, but if I remembed correctly, it was much stronger than the pink drink Armin had handed to me.

"You want some?" I offered Mikasa, but she shook her head and held up her own cup filled with pink liquid. "I'm good." She smiled and turned towards Marco, going in to a deep conversation about a TV-show they had both been watching. I stayed there for a while, talking and drinking, listening as everyone seemed to get in a better mood with every drink and minutes that passed. When I had finished my second cup of the pink drink, I started to feel a bit warm, my cheeks burning slightly.

Connie and Sasha left the group first, saying they were going to check out the other rooms, and Jean pulled Marco off to somewhere, clearly feeling jealous about Mikasa taking all his attention.

"I'm going outside for some air," I said, picking up another cup of alcohol. Mikasa and Armin didn't seem to notice as I started to walk towards the exit. I shoved past the people crowded in the hallway and living room, trying to make it to the front door. I felt a little dizzy and ended up bumping in to several people on my way out. I was about to open the door when I felt a hand grabbing a hold of my shoulder.
