I slip the mask carefully over my hair and grab my phone. I put it in the black wallet/purse that I have and grab my car keys. Maya and I got ready together since I had no where else to go. I didn't have enough money for a hotel room. Thankfully I have the best best friend ever.

"Ready to go?" Maya asks from my right.

Sighing, I nod my head. I told Maya about what happened with Aaron and I. She isn't happy that I did that to myself either, but she actually stayed with me.

We walk out to my car and get in.

"We're going to have fun tonight. Okay?"

I pull out of the driveway and head towards the city as Maya studies me closely.

I still feel like slitting my wrists again. I still feel like slitting my neck. I still feel like crying. I can't stand this anymore.

Aaron hasn't called me. Not once. I don't even think he's given me one thought. Probably out with some slut, and I should be angered by that, but I'm not, I'm jealous of that 'slut.'

"Is Aaron going to be at this party?" I ask biting my lip.

Maya hesitates. "Yes," she says monotone while nodding her head.

I exhale loudly. "Great,"

"Hey, it's going to be okay."

"No it isn't, this isn't like last time. I broke up with him last time. He knew I still loved him, and he fought for me. I didn't do anything and I doubt Aaron still loves me." I stop to catch my breath and them silently whisper, "Why would he?"

"Belle, you look smokin' hot. He'd be crazy not to still love you." My shoulders slump and I sigh. When Maya realizes thats not what I wanted to hear, she saves herself by saying, "And I mean after all you guys were through, he's just going to throw it away... over what? Over a simple slit. Something you're never going to do again."

"Maya, you can't be so sure... and it wasn't because I cut. It was because I won't allow him to get involved, I won't accept his help." I bite my lip, fighting back all the tears wanting to spill. "We discussed this already... lets just have fun."

Maya nods. "Okay, can do. The place is right here on your left."

I pull into the large parking lot. The music from the building is extremely loud. It shakes the ground as I walk to the door.

"Ready?" Maya asks, looping her arm through mine.

"Ready." We push open the doors and are instantly greeted with the wonderful smell of sweat and too much cologne.

Please note the sarcasm on the word wonderful.

Everyone is dressed in all different colors, with a matching mask. It looks amazing. Streamers on the walls and ceilings and glitter on the floor. Dancers hang from the ceiling and multiple women in sleazy outfits walk by with drinks.

"Charlie's hosting this?" I ask Maya in disbelief.

She nods. "He has more money than we think. It's his graduation party, also, so his parents went a little crazy." Then she walks off into the crowd leaving me alone.

I'm about to walk out the door when I'm stricken with the thought to just forget everything. To just have one night to myself and have fun.

I walk out into the crowd and grind against many people, taking drinks left and right. After my fourth wine, I stumble out of the crowd just to run into someone.

"Shit, sorry." I say, putting a hand on my head when I pull away from the strong chest. I smell the familiar cologne and my stomach turns. I stare at the floor, seeing his black dress shoes... and then bright pink heels.
