Chapter 13: Finally

I ran out into the hall and saw every squad member of every squad going to the tether. I found Kya and Tom and then we found the others.

"We can't just stay here," Demacha said.

"Stay together," commander April (are commander) argued.

"I'm going," Demacha said. Then she left and got onto the tether.

"Should we join?" Mikel asked.

"No we'll wait in line," April answered.

It's a good thing we didn't go with Demacha because seven covadent ships flowed down and shot the tether down. Then it started to fall. We all ran trying to get out of the way. Everyone other then Tom, Kya, and I got out of the way. When we got back up we saw the others motioning us to get in a room. So we ran over. April, Walter, Jinea, and Mikel where already there.

"What's attacking?" Mikel asked. You could hear the fear in his voice.

"It's the covadent," I said looking out into the hallway.

"The what?" Walter asked.

"Covadent. Their an alien rase that destroyed Reach and is trying to do the same here," I answered.

"How do you know so much about them?" April asked.

I was about to answer when there was a scream out in the hall. We all looked out and saw a brute with his sword going threw a girl. I reached for my back but grabbed nothing. I looked back and remembered that I wasn't in my suit.

"We need to get to the locker room," I said turning to the others.

"Ok when he smashes the next door we'll make a run for it," April said.

We waited a few seconds and then the door smashed. I ran out of the room with the others close behind. I looked back and saw Jinea and back. Then he screamed in an pain as a sword went three him. I kept running. We got to the locker room. When we got in I locked the door so that it couldn't get in. I went to my locker and started to put my Spartan Armor on.

"Tom! Try to communicate to anyone then get your armor on. Everyone else get your armor on just in case. I finished putting on my armor and noticed that I had invisibility. Before the others could finish putting in their armor there was a ban on the door. Everyone stopped.

"Hide!" April said. They hid and I turned on my invisibility. The door flew open. It just missed me. I stood still. It walked in front of my lock and I didn't grab my gun yet. I saw that Walter was holding something. The brute walked closer to the others. Walter wasn't with them though. So he threw the thing that he had at the brute. Then before he could run the brute stab him with it's sword. Then he walked back towards the others. I knew I had to act fast. I pulled out my knife and ran I over to it taking off my invisibility. I jumped in the brute's back. It pushed me off. I landed on the ground with a thud and my knife flew out of my hand. It jumped on top of me and brought the sword close to my neck. I grabbed of it's wrists and pushed back so that it wouldn't take my head off.

"5 anytime soon would be nice!!" I yelled hoping that he was trying to find us. Then he came running in gun at hand. He ran over and kicked the brute off of me. I grabbed my knife and stabbed it. "5 anytime sooner would have been nice," I said looking at him.

"Sorry 6 I was trying to find you," he replied.

"Who the heck is 5 and why is he calling you 6 and why are you in that armor?!" Mikel asked yelled.

"Explain later because we have to leave now," I said.
