Dancing in the Rain

I am dancing in the rain

Not caring who sees

Letting go of all pain

For once just being free

Moving my body to the music

Of heaven’s tears beating on the ground

I hear people say that I’m losing it

But I only listen to nature’s sound

The water, my soul, is soothing

Its coolness seeps into my pores

The darkened sky is my ceiling

The damp earth is my dance floor

I twirl and twist and spin

While my body fills up with excitement

My clothes are clinging to my skin

Yet I am fully enjoying the moment

The sizzling rod meets the earth

With a shower of glistening sparks

And Mother Nature shows her mirth

Giving a laugh straight from her heart

And when nature’s rhythm slows its pace

Signaling the time for my dance to stop

I end with poise and full of grace

But don’t move until the last tear drops
