I Can

When others make fun of me

And don’t believe in my dreams

When they try to discourage me

And say my goals are too hard to reach

I decide to tune them out

I tell myself over and over again

That I can be somebody

In this life I can win

I Can

When I am in school

And the workload is so much

I refuse to entertain self pity

And instead decide to grow tough

I throw myself into my books

I go over them until I understand

‘Cause nothing is too hard for me

I can do anything

I Can

When I’m asked to perform a task

In front of a large audience

And nervousness starts to wash over me

I say “I don’t think I can do this”

Then I stop for a minute to catch myself

I remember who I am

I am brave, I am confident, I am smart

I was asked if I can do this

Well the answer is

I Can

I can do anything

I can be whoever I want to be

My options are limitless

I can achieve whatever I think I can achieve

These two little words

Have power beyond what we understand

The impossible becomes possible

Once you start to say

I Can
