A/N: We are jumping ahead to the start of initiation. This chapter is dedicated to Bookworm_Fangirl_117 for voting for every chapter of my story so far! Thanks!!!!

Tris's POV

"Tris. Come on," I hear a voice calling to me. "You've got to get up now. The initiates are going to be at the net in half an hour. I've already let you sleep past when you wanted me to wake you up. If you don't get up now, I'm going to drag you out!" Tobias scolds me.

"Well, we wouldn't want that to happen now. Would we?" I ask, getting out of bed. I grab a muffin off the counter and walk to the shower, grabbing some clothes on my way. I get out five minutes later and get dressed. I am wearing a black tank top with tight black jeans and combat boots. I pull my hair back into a ponytail and walk out. Tobias is wearing his usual t-shirt and jeans. "Ready to be intimidating?" I ask.

"Always," he responds. We walk down to the net and decide to not tell the initiates we were together, but we weren't exactly going to keep it hidden. It was going to be like a game. A Who would find out first? kind of thing.

Tobias's POV

We reach the net a few minutes before the train reaches the rooftop. I hear screams and know that someone didn't make it over. Eric starts his speech and we wait for the first jumper. I hear a scream and see a mass of grey hurtling towards the net. Abnegation. I wonder why they left. Not many people from Abnegation transfer, especially to Dauntless. It would be too selfish to cause harm to their family, but, of course, "Faction Before Blood."

I reach out and help the girl out. "What's your name?" I ask.

"Edith," she responds. I nod to Tris.

"First jumper: Edith!" she shouts. I can tell that she seems pleased that I let her call it. I know she can't wait to get started and it seems like an hour before all the initiates have jumped. When they've all reached the bottom, I can see that most of them are Dauntless-born, as usual. Uriah takes them off and there are only 9 transfers. One from Abnegation, two from Amity, three from Candor, and three from Erudite.

Tris's POV

There are only nine transfers. The same as last year. There is one from Abnegation (the first jumper), two from Amity, three from Candor, and three from Erudite. The girl from Amity seems to be thinking she made the wrong choice, while the boy seems to be enjoying himself very much.

"Okay. Let's get started. I'm Tris and this is Four. We are - " I am cut off by a Candor girl who doesn't seem to be able to leave her old faction behind.

"Four. like the number? Who would name their child a number?" She asks.

I walk over to her and glare at her. "What's your name?" I ask quietly.

     "Ella," she whispers.

"Well, Ella, if I had wanted to put up with Candor smart-mouths, I would've joined their faction." I say and walk away. "As I was saying, Four and I are going to be your trainers during initiation. Shall we get on with the tour?" I say and lead the transfers down a narrow hallway to the Pit. "This is the Pit. You'll grow to love it sooner or later. I'd suggest sooner. It has all the necessities: food, clothing, activities." We make our way to the bridge over the chasm. "This is the chasm. One daredevil stunt could cost you your life. It has happened before and will happen again." I say, nearly having to choke out the words. The memory of Al's lifeless body being pulled from the chasm haunts me. I shudder and we continue on the tour. We reach the dormitory and I tell them, "Training begins at 8:00 tomorrow morning. We will train until noon, break for lunch, and continue until 6:00. After then, you are free to do whatever you please."

Tobias POV:

Tris and I leave the dormitory and walk back to the apartment. Tonight's the night. I'm going to do it. I've been planning this night for weeks. I don't know what she'll say, but either way, I won't be disappointed. I start heating dinner and Tris changes into one of my old t-shirts and a pair of shorts that she'll just discard later in the night anyway. I'm sure she's just wearing them now for decency. We are having spaghetti and garlic bread with Dauntless cake for dessert. While Tris was changing, I set the table. It wasn't a very large table, since I've only had the need for a table to suit two people. I set a bouquet of roses in the center and place plates of spaghetti on either side of the table. Tris walks out of the bathroom and gasps at the sight of the table setting.

"What's this for?" she asks. If I told her the truth now, it would spoil the surprise later.

"It's the one year anniversary for when I first saw you. You jumped into the net and I couldn't believe my eyes." I respond. We sit and eat. Eventually I have to move the flowers because I can't see Tris to speak to her. We continue talking until I finally decide that it's time.

"Tris, I've loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you, though I didn't always know it. But I knew when we were climbing the Ferris wheel that you were a special girl. You aren't like the rest, and that's why I love you so much. You are selfless and kind and brave. Most of all, you are Tris. You are beautiful in your own way." I get down on my knee in front of her and pull out the box. "Beatrice Prior, will you marry me?"

A/N: Okay guys. What do you think? Will she say yes? Will she say no? Will she get to answer? I'll try and put up a short chapter with the answer soon. Thanks for reading. Bye!
