Mother and I stand at the edge of the ferry, as it prepares to dock at the marina. I feel a mix of emotions; nervousness, happiness... but most of all, excitement. As me and Mother step off the ferry along with all of the other bustling passengers, I can just about see the best view I could've hoped for among the crowd of people - standing at the marina are Hau, Professor Kukui, and Sun. My closest friends. Sun and I lock eyes, and we freeze. The whole world seems to freeze. Although Hau and Kukui are also there, I can't take my eyes off of Sun... I'm so happy to see him again!
"S-Sun!" I exclaim, running towards him with tears in my eyes and open arms. The whole world around us seems to fade to black, with only Sun and I in existence. He smiles happily, and opens his arms to hug me. Without hesitation, I leap into his open arms, and cuddle him happily. He's just as I remember him - strong, good-looking, always wearing that friendly face of his, that same face I saw when we first met on Mahalo Trail. He's wearing his iconic cap, along with his green shirt, blue shorts, and bag. His awesome brown hair is exactly the same as I remember it. He squeezes me tightly, but not too tightly as I rest my head against his firm chest.
"Lillie! I've missed you so much!" He exclaims, his voice sharp and cool, like I remember it.
"I've missed you too," I giggle, embracing him into another tight hug, which he likes. He wraps his arms around me and squeezes back. I let my warm tears of joy soak into his chest, as the world around us seems to reappear. We break away from our cuddle, and look into eachother eyes, both of us grinning from ear to ear. Hau and Kukui are also grinning. Sun gently wipes a tear out of my eye with his finger, and I suddenly just want to kiss him - right here, right now, but I restrain myself from doing so.
"Hello, everyone!" Mother smiles, as she steps forwards from behind me.
"Mrs. Lusamine!" Exclaims Hau.
"It's great to see you all again. Listen, I'd like to apologise, about what happened last time we saw eachother. I didn't... I'm so sorry," my mother says.
"No, it's okay, really! We forgive you!" Ensures Sun with a smile.
"Oh, hello Hau! And Professor Kukui!" I say, smiling at my two other friends.
"Good to see you, Lillie!" Says Hau, grinning and bouncing with excitement.
"Hey Lillie! How's it going? Kanto was good, yeah?" Asks Professor Kukui.
"It was a great adventure! I caught my first Pokémon, my mother healed... but it felt lonely, without you guys..." I say, blushing a little.
"Well we're here now. Just like we used to be," Sun says huskily with a smile. Him flashing his white teeth makes me smile, and we embrace in another hug. I don't even know how or why it happens, it just does, and I love it.
"So, where to first?" Asks Hau eagerly.
"Ummm, I think my mother wants to see us all again. We should head over to my place first!" Suggests Sun. Hau grins, and summons his Tauros.
"Race you there, then! And this time, no Charizard!" He chuckles.
Sun and Hau race eachother on Charizards?!
"Okay, but only if you give us a second to mount up first! Do you want to ride with me, Lillie?" Sun asks, turning his attention back to me. I smile, in awe.
"Oh! Sure!" I chirp, excitedly. Sun pages his Tauros, and helps me up so that I'm positioned behind him.
"You might want to hold onto something," Sun chuckles. I know immediately what I want to do, and say it without thinking.
"Can... can I hold on to you?" I ask quietly. I feel my face flushing red slightly from embarrassment. Luckily, Sun doesn't mind.
"Sure! If you want," He giggles in response. With his permission, I wrap my arms around his lower waist, securing myself.
"Ready, set, go!" Hau suddenly shouts quickly, taking off on his Tauros and laughing as he speeds ahead. Sun reacts quickly though, and shoots of after him without hesitation. The sudden burst of speed catches me off guard, and I clutch onto his sides a little more tightly, in fear that I may fall off. However, I soon adjust, and enjoy the sensation of speeding through Hao'uli city with Sun. We quickly catch up to Hau and overtake him, with Sun's house not far away. We soon slow down, and come to a stop outside the house.
"Looks like we won," Sun says happily.
"Yeah... Oh, wait! We forgot about Kukui and Lusamine!" Hau exclaims suddenly.
"Ah it's fine, they'll catch up," Sun says casually. I loosen my grip and he helps me back down off of Tauros to the ground. I giggle in happiness.
"That was awesome!" I exclaim.
"Well if you want to do more riding, we should get you some riding gear!" Sun points out. I gasp, remembering that I wasn't wearing any protective gear! Good thing I didn't fall off.
Just a moment later, mother and Professor Kukui arrive on the Professor's Mudsdale. "Hey, you forgot about us!" Laughs the Professor casually.
They dismount from their Mudsdale, and return it to their ride pager. Just then, the door opens and out steps Sun's mother, who approaches and hugs me with a warm smile.
"Lillie!" She exclaims.
"Oh, hello! It's nice to see you again," I reply, which is true. I have also missed Sun's mother, I think she's very kind. Meowth comes out of the house and runs around excitedly, meowing.
"Heehee! It's good to see you too, Meowth!" I laugh. In the corner of my eye, I see Sun chuckle too.
"So, what is everyone going to do then?" Asks Kukui.
"Well, I'd like to go and see Gladion at Aether Paradise... but I think I'd like to get to know Sun's mother, first!" Says mother joyfully, turning to Sun's mother. Sun's mother smiles back.
"That's a wonderful idea! Please, come in! I can make tea or coffee, or whatever you'd like to drink!" Offers Sun's mother warmly.
"Well, that's settled then. I'm going to go and see Burnet on Akala Island," says Kukui.
"I'll go with the Professor, then!" Says Hau. "I've got some more Pokémon to catch there, anyway!" He adds.
"That just leaves Sun and Lillie. What are you two going to do?" Asks mom with a smile.
"I'll stay with Sun!" I say, without even thinking. "Um, I mean, where do you want to go, Sun?" I correct myself, my face flushing red from embarrassment.
"Hmmm... I'd like to go somewhere nice with you, Lillie. I - I know a good place!" He stutters, blushing a little by what he just said. I think it's a great idea!
"Great! Let's go!" I chirp happily. Sun smiles, glad that I agree.
"Ok then!" Laughs Hau. "We'll all meet at Iki Town at 7pm, okay?" He finishes, glancing at Sun.
Hau making a plan? That's new...
"Ok! Stay safe, you two!" Says Sun's mother.
"Yes, Take care of Lillie, ok Sun?" Adds my mother, before they both head back inside.
"I will!" Replies Sun, with a smile.
"Well, we'll see you later, cous!" Says Kukui, as he summons his Charizard. "You two have fun, yeah?" He adds.
"See you later, Sun!" Says Hau with a smile, and with that, Kukui and Hau take off on their Charizards. And Sun and I are left alone.
For a few seconds, we stand together in total silence, watching our friends take to the skies on Charizard. I can't resist the urge, and I suddenly throw my arms around Sun, squeezing him in a hug. He's caught off guard at first, but luckily, he doesn't seem to mind and squeezes me gently in his arms.
"You're in the mood for hugs today, aren't you, Lillie!" He chuckles gently, as we release eachother.
"Sorry, I'm just... I'm so glad to see you again, Sun!" I reply, blushing.
"Hey, don't be sorry! I'm happy to see you too, you know!" He laughs, embracing me into another loving hug. I giggle, tickled by the way he rubs his hands down my sides. We hug for a while, before finally separating again.
"Oh yes... where did you want to go with me?" I ask.
"Ah yes! Come with me, you'll love the place!" He replies, his eyes full of excitement.
I smile, and he holds my hand, which I love. We stroll across the beach together, towards... Ten Carat Hill!
"Oh, Ten Carat Hill! This is one of my favourite places in the world! How did you know, Sun?" I exclaim.
"Because I love it too," He replies with a smile. Suddenly, he notices something.
"Hey Lillie, why aren't you in your Z-powered form anymore?" He asks.
"Oh, I wanted a bit of a change. Funny you mention it actually, I was planning to change it later!" I answer. He giggles, and pulls me closer to him.
"I think you're beautiful in both forms," he whispers romantically into my ear. I giggle, blush, and bury my face into his shoulder, wrapping my arms around him.
"Heehee... th- thank you!" I giggle happily, unsure of what really to say.
We interlock our fingers as we proceed to the entrance of Ten Carat Hill. As we approach the entrance, Sun rolls his eyes at the rocks that are blocking the way as usual.
"Are you able to climb over these rocks, Lillie?" He asks.
"Of course! You first though," I giggle in response. He clambers over the rocks first, before helping me over as well.
As we stroll hand-in-hand through the gloomy tunnel ahead, I tense up slightly with nervousness. I'm a little anxious of running into any wild Pokemon down here... Sun seems to notice, as I accidentally squeeze his hand a little tighter.
"You okay?" He asks frowning.
"Um, yeah... I just don't want to run into any..." I begin, but just then, a huge wild Golbat swoops down in front of us, and I yelp before jumping behind Sun, who sends out his Feathers instinctively. I haven't seen the awesome Pokemon for ages!
Staggered, I fall to the ground. With a single slash, Feathers takes the Golbat down with Leaf Blade. The friendly Pokemon proceeds to step over to me, stretching out a feathery wing to help me up. I smile, and accept the offer.
"Nice work as always, Feathers. Are you okay, Lillie?" Sun asks worriedly as he returns the Decidueye to it's Poke Ball.
"Y-yes thank you! I was just shocked a little," I say, catching my breath and smiling.
"Good. We're almost there!"
He brushes the dust off of me, and holds me closer to protect me from any other wild Pokemon. We finally reach the end of the dark tunnel, and we step out into the stunning meadow within Ten Carat Hill. Both Sun and I are encapsulated by the beautiful scenery. It's just me and him, surrounded only by the stillness of nature and the gentle sounds of Pokemon. Is... is this the time to tell him how I feel about him?
We slowly stroll forwards, hand-in-hand.
"It - it's beautiful, Sun..." I whisper, tears welling up in my eyes.
"It is," he says gently in response. We stop at the centre of the meadow. "Want to sit here, Lil?" He asks. I nod, and reply;
"Sure!"
I'm just so happy. To be back in Alola, to see my friends and home again, and most importantly, just to be here with Sun. He crouches down, taking a box and blanket out of his bag. Laying the blanket down on the ground along with the box which seems to contain food, he smiles and signals for me to sit down next to him. I grin back, and sit down.
"You... prepared this yourself? For me?" I ask, blushing a little by the kindness.
"I wanted to share a special moment with you, Lillie..." he says, seeming to search for some words.
"Thank you! This is so beautiful, Sun!" I exclaim. I take a deep breath. "Listen Sun, there's... there is something I need to tell you," I say, breathing a little too quickly. Sun takes a deep breath, and politely stops me.
"No Lillie, there is something I need to tell you," he says, blushing a little and smiling at the same time.
"I - I'm listening, Sun," I say, looking up at him contently.
"Lillie... there is something I should have told you, when we first met..." he says, struggling for words. "Without you, I would never have become champion. I would never have had the adventure we had! And when you left for Kanto, Lillie... Alola became lonely." He takes another deep breath. Tears begin to well up in my eyes, and I can see some forming in his. "But now, you're back, this is the happiest moment of my life. Lillie..." He closes his eyes and pauses. "I love you, Lillie."Awww :3
