Chapter 3 - Our Love Blooms

I gasp. The boy who I've secretly loved since we met has just confessed that he loves me. For a moment, I feel paralysed - I don't know what to say. With tears of joy building in my eyes, I throw my arms around Sun.
"Sun, I... I love you too!" I exclaim. We both smile, and we both know what's coming next. Leaning slowly towards eachother, he wipes the warm tears from my eyes, and we romantically press our lips to eachothers, embracing in our first kiss. And it is amazing. His lips feel amazing, everything about the moment feels amazing. I slide my hands up onto his shoulders, and he holds gently onto my sides. Every part of me wants to slide my tongue into his mouth, but I decide to save that for some point in the future. My heart is racing with excitement. After a few minutes, we finally part our lips.
I just kissed him. That was our first kiss.
As the world fades back into existence, I giggle happily and tackle him in a hug. Laughing too, he pulls me closer and we lay down together on the blanket, cuddling together.
After rolling around, hugging and kissing a bit more, I lay in his arms. Every part of me feels numb. This is the best day of my life.
Suddenly, my stomach growls a little. Sun giggles, and sits up.
"You want something to eat, Lillie?" He asks, with a smile. I blush a little bit.
"Ummm... Y-yes please," I ask cutely.
"Hey, don't be embarrassed about being hungry!" He laughs, taking a malasada out of the box, handing it to me. "You still like Malasada, right?"
Good thing Hau isn't here.
I smile. "Of course!"
As I carefully nibble my malasada, we hear a cute woofing sound from beside us. A little startled, I flick my head over to see an adorable little Rockruff sitting on the rich grass.
"Awww, a Rockruff!" I exclaim. It's looking from me to our food, and I know that it's hungry. Cautiously, I extend my arm, offering the little Rockruff a bit of Malasada. The friendly pokemon quickly wolfs it down, before leaping into my lap, proceeding to lap gently at my face. The sensation is ticklish, and I giggle happily.
"Looks like you're not the only one I'm getting a kiss from today, Sun," I say through my laughter. He grins too, taking a Poke Ball out of his bag, and placing it into my hand.
"You like my kisses better though, right?" He asks playfully. I nod, smiling.
"Definitely."
The Rockruff hops out of my lap and installs itself so that it's sat on the grass, it's big floppy tongue hanging adorably out of it's mouth.
I stand up, smiling cutely at Sun, as a way of thanking him for the Poke Ball. I gently toss the Poké Ball at the Rockruff, which makes no attempt to even escape the ball.
"Ahah! I've caught my first Alolan Pokemon!" I cheer.
"Ayyy! Look at you go," Sun grins. I wrap my arms around him, kissing him on the cheek.
"Thank you for the Poké Ball."
"N-no problem!" He replies blankly, dazed by the kiss. I giggle at the cuteness. "Oh, let me clean Rockruff's slobber of your pretty face," He offers, getting a cloth out of his backpack. I blush slightly at the compliment, which makes me want to kiss him again.
After gently wiping Rockruff's drool off of my face, we talk for a while. He seems interested in my progress as a trainer, and my adventures in the Kanto region.
We talk for ages about my Pokemon, (which I of course show him), my mother, and about the Kanto region, until Sun suddenly remembers something.
"Oh, Lillie! I almost forgot! There's someone else who has been looking forward to seeing you, too!" He exclaims, finding a Poke Ball in his bag.
"Oh? Where are they?" I ask. Sun smiles, standing up and taking a few steps back.
"Right here!" He laughs, sending out the iconic creature that we all know and love - Nebby! I gasp, tearing up just at the sight of the legendary Pokemon. I leap up, and hug the Pokemon that Sun and I have been through so much with. Nebby roars strongly, before lapping at my face gently with his tongue. It's very ticklish, making me giggle.
"Oh no, not again," Sun laughs, getting another cloth out of his bag and gently wiping my face clean with care. I smile happily, overjoyed by the reunion. As he's putting the cloth back in his bag, I catch him off guard, throwing my arms up around his shoulders and pulling him into another lip-to-lip kiss. His eyes remain wide open by the suddenness of it at first, but he smiles, closing his eyes and gently hugging me. Nebby roars in approval as we kiss.
"You know, I've taught Nebby to carry people on his back," Sun whispers.
"Wow! Can we ride him?" I ask eagerly. We look to Nebby, who steps in front of us, offering for us to hop on.
"I guess so," Sun chuckles. "Where do you want to go next?" He asks with a smile.
"Hmmm," I think. Suddenly, I remember riding gear. "Oh, can we go shopping in Hao'uli city?" I ask.
"Great idea! There's quite a few things we need to buy," he agrees. With that, we mount up onto Nebby's sturdy back, me sitting behind Sun. I wrap my arms around his lower waist for safety and giggle - I'm allowed to do this now without being embarrassed.
After racing through tunnels and fields atop of Nebby, we arrive at Hao'uli city fairly quickly.
"That was so much fun, thank you, Nebby," I sigh joyfully as Sun helps me down, a big smile on his face.
