After hearing all of Saihara's instructions, rules and information on the others, he had handed me a box of supplies. Rations I wouldn't need, a sleeping bag, I wouldn't really need and medicine, again, I wouldn't need. Zombies don't sleep.
I don't sleep. Ever. I hate every minute of it yet I never feel tired so it's not really an issue. As Kiibo led me to his tent, I was told by Saihara to bunk with him, he started speaking quietly. "Do you need any of your supplies?" He asked.
I looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "I could ask you the same Kiiboi. You're asking a question that answers itself." I murmured, guilty about the waste.
"So I take it you don't sleep."
"I haven't in a year Kiibo." I said. "Then...what was all that 'sleep' nonsense when I was with you?" He asked. I paused. "I was having blackouts from lack of food." I said, remembering that time. He held open the tent and I went inside, pushing the box to the corner and sitting there.
He came in with me, closing the tent. "Everyone's eating outside at the moment." He said, opening his arm up and switching out batteries.
"I see. Iruma upgraded you to batteries?" I asked. He nodded and smiled brightly. I chuckled. He had always been a sucker for her. I remembered we used to be decent friends, Iruma and I.
Rather than asking about her, I opened my box, inspecting it. "What the actual hell is all this?" I asked, pulling out a can of peaches and a box of granola bars, as well as a bag. Kiibo laughed at my dismay.
"Rations. I already said I'd help you so don't worry." Kiibo said. As I pulled out the sleeping bag and medicine, I squealed and took out the bottle of Panta tucked at the bottom. I pulled the sticky note off the bottle and read it to myself.
"Oh what is that?" Kiibo asked. "The note and the bottle? 1, a gift from Saihara, god knows why, and 2, Panta. What else. God I haven't found any of this drink in a month!!!" I murmured in excitement and put that in my bag, covering it in medicine. I left the food and sleeping bag out, but then put it in the box.
"Hey, Ouma! I have an idea. How's your sight at night?" Kiibo asked, suddenly ecstatic. "Well, its stellar. Oh! Do you want me to help with the patrol? I heard you and that baby faced guy Fuyohiko were patrolling tonight." I asked, reading his mind as he nodded.
"Would you think I'd be allowed?" I asked, tapping my chin and looking up. "Yeah. Saihara always wants more people able to patrol. As long as you patrol every other night, I don't think anyone would get suspicious." Kiibo said, grabbing my hands in excitement.
At that moment in time, I had realized something. Kiibo is the only one who knows my secret, and he doesn't hate me for it. He may have betrayed me long ago, but if he hadn't I could've died from under eating in general. If I had told him maybe he would have stayed.
Who knows... "Are you going to have to eat with them?" Kiibo asked as he started to adjust his bags supplies. "Saihara said I could exempt from them as I need to adjust. He's giving me a week." I said, realizing that that could be an issue. "That could be an issue huh?" Kiibo looked at me, reading my mind this time.
I nodded, and his already concerned face twisted a bit more. "In a week we may be at the sanctuary... that could be a huge problem..." Kiibo said, looking down at his bag and stopping his motions. I shrugged. "Once I see this 'sanctuary' n stuff I'll figure it out. We are like a group Kiibo. You're like... my assistant and I'm the leader!" I said, smiling happily.
He looked at me and shook his head with a defeated smile. "Saihara may lead the survivors but... you'll be leading me then. You still are the SHSL Supreme Leader... I won't say no and take that away from you mkay?" He said. I nodded eagerly and he rubbed my head.
