nineteen; dysphoria

I left my car in the small parallel parking spot across from my destination. Stuffing the keys into my pocket, I glanced at the door, the closed sign clear and visible. I hated the fact that I waited to come down here this late, but I knew if I came any earlier, I wouldn't have as much luck. I knew Harry wasn't sleeping anywhere near his father.

Or whatever you call his excuse of a father.

I made my way to the side of the building and kept walking. The darkness surrounding me wasn't pleasant, but I finally reached the back of the store, and I took out the bobby pin I had brought from my hair and bit the round tip off, leaving the edge sharp. I inserted the bobby pin into the door, and jiggled it around before I heard the click of it unlocking.

I let out a huge breath of relief before I pushed the door open just a little, peeking inside.

There was few to no lights on, which I could understand. However, I made my way through as easily and carefully as I could. I made sure I didn't run into anything as I stretched my arms a little further out, reaching a door. I quietly turned it before stepping into the small area that led to the main level.

However, I could hear something from my left, and when I turned that way, a sudden, blinding light shined terribly into my eyes as I barely saw a glimpse of a bat coming my way. In reflex, I squealed like a child, covering my face with my hands.

But I soon realized I didn't feel anything hit me, and I felt my eyes flutter open to meet the most beautiful ones I had ever seen in the world. Harry held a bat in his hands, the bat still propped up on his shoulder as I examined the terrifying expression spread across his face. He looked exhausted, and very surprised I was standing across from him.

"Elodie?" I heard how fragile he sounded, and I wanted to break down in that moment as everything started to add up. His eyes twinkled in sadness, and I could see the tears building up in them. Harry was clearly breaking in half mentally as he pretended to be okay while he stood in front of me. "I.." he started to speak, but I could see his eyes begin to close, and I instantly engulfed him, closing the silence that he left.

As soon as I wrapped my arms around him, I felt him lay his head carefully atop my shoulder, and I instantly heard the desolate sound of Harry crying. His breathing uneven as he whimpered under his breath, attempting to hide it.

"I know," I said, holding him so tightly, I could feel my hands loosing feeling in them.

Harry's arms were wrapped tightly around my back as he let out whatever he had held in for so long. I couldn't stand the fact that this is what he's getting, when all he deserves is all the love in the world. He's such a good person, why the hell did this have to happen?

"What did I ever do to him that made him hate me so much?" I heard right next to my ear, which caused a tear to fall right down my face.
