"Annyeonghaseyo, (y/n)-imnida~ Really sorry for being late! Please do guide me! I'll work very hard, I promise, " You greeted your boss, Xiumin, while bowing 90°.
It was your first day of work at the coffee shop nearby your house, Twinkle Starlight (couldn't think of anymore names oops) .
You were late as you had to unpack your belongings first, and lost track of time.
Xiumin bowed back to you, flashing you a gummy smile.
"Welcome to Twinkle Starlight~ It's not a big deal. Being late is better than not turning up at all, right? I hope you have a great experience working with us, " He bowed back to you.
'He's so understanding,'
You returned a smile, already sure that you were going to have a pretty nice time at the café.
<time skip>
Soon enough, you did get used to the working environment and had settled down nicely. You came to Seoul from (your country) just to find your first love. He was your childhood friend, and he left because of his father's business.
You tried to move on, but first loves always hold a special place in everyone's hearts, right?
{flashback}
(the both of you are still 9 years old)
"(y/n)... I-i am moving to Seoul tomorrow... My father wants to open many more branches of his shoe shop there... " Minseok stuttered, (pretty sure y'all know where this is getting alr) fiddling with his fingers, squirming around your living room couch, looking everywhere but your eyes.
Your mouth hung open.
All this was too sudden.
Your best friend of 9 years was moving far away from you.
Yes, the both of you had known each other ever since the both of you had been in diapers. Your mothers were best friends, so the two of you met through each other's mums.
"Sorry... " He murmured, trying to take your hands into his.
Tears brimmed your eyes as you pulled away, running upstairs to your room.
How could he do this to you?? You knew this wasn't his fault, but the both of you had so many plans for the future.
He also clearly knew how much you relied and depended on him. Without him, you probably won't be able to manage.
You would pursue your dream of majoring in Arts, and he would open up a café as he had so much passion in brewing coffee. He also wanted to share the agriculture of coffee with other people, even if they were strangers.
But now,
You knew that it was impossible, as you drifted off to sleep with dried-up tears.
<the next day>
"(y/n)... Today is the day Minseok is leaving for Korea... Are you sure you don't want to exchange your last goodbyes with each other? I'm sure he would be glad to see you before he departs, " Your mother shook you lightly.
You were sprawled all over your bed, staring soullessly at the ceiling.
The previous day, Minseok left around an hour or so after you stormed up to your room. He had been waiting for you to come down but knowing your stubborn personality, he gave up not long after, according to your mother.
