Walking into Biology class Tuesday morning, I felt a pang of guilt when I saw Jesse sitting in the back with earbuds in and the whole world shut out from him. I have no right to feel this way because of how he treated me that day he saw Cody and I kiss, and just yesterday when I caught him smoking.

I decided not to sit with him, like I was doing the week before, because duh, and also because I felt like we didn't even know each other anymore. Another reason was because of awkwardness, but it turns out we didn't need to sit by him to make things awkward, we just had to wait for Professor Gerard to talk.

   "Alright class, as some of you may know we have a project coming up which is worth half of your semester one grade. But trust me when I say this is a really fun and easy project. This project will also be completed with partners." The entire class groaned in unison at her words.

   "Oh darn, you're all in college and you have work to do." Mrs. Gerard nagged at the class.

   "So, back to the partners, I have picked the partners for this project and there will be no changing of the partners, what I say goes." She smiled and went to her desk to pick up what I guess is the partners list.

    "Our first partners are going to be Kennedy and John..." If she was going to name the entire class this was going to take some time. "...and lastly we have Jesse partnered with Allie." Oh dear god.

All eyes were on me at that moment, all the girls gave me stank eyes, and all the guys just stared. Some smirked because they were friends with him and knew exactly what I was getting into. I slumped in my chair and didn't even bother looking at Jesse, this was going to be so much fun, cue the sarcasm. To be honest I don't know why the girls gave me stank eyes, it's not like he is that attractive. Who am I kidding, he is gorgeous, perfectly sculpted features matched with piercing blue eyes and plump, pink lips. I was dragged out of my fantasies and brought to reality with professor talking.

   "Ok everyone, now is your chance to find your partner and get to know each other. This will be so fun!! Also I will explain the rules of this project Thursday so please show up." She finished her sentence and sat down at her desk with her eyes switching between Jesse and I, like she was excited to see how this plays out between us. Honestly, I'm excited to see how it goes too.

I looked over at Jesse and saw him leaning back in his chair, feet propped on the seat in front of him, and I knew he wasn't moving, so I went to him.
As I went to sit next to him, I looked at him and I no longer saw the hurt guy who saw Cody and I kiss, I saw a man who was trying real hard to hide the pain and suffering he has endured in his life. The mask he wears now is a face full of no emotion, and not a care in the world. Ya I went there, all dark and shit.

   "Hey." I said weakly as I took a seat next to him.

   "Sup." He didn't even look up from his sketchbook, which he was currently writing in. Fuck, I can already see how this project is going down and I'm not liking it at all.

   "Really, Jesse, you're going to act like we've never even met, never shared coffee, never almost went on a date? Where's the dimples that I met that morning? Cause this side of you is not really likeable." I stated abruptly.

   "Blondie, there's only one side to me and that's this side." When he uses Blondie this way it doesn't sound the same, it doesn't give me butterflies.

   "Well if you can still call me Blondie I'm still gonna call you Dimples, Dimples." I muttered.

    "Just so you know, this 'partnership' is strictly school professional, nothing personal." I rolled my eyes at that common statement. Trust me, that ship sailed a while ago.

   "Don't flatter yourself, you may think every girl in the school wants to fuck you because of your looks or your attitude, but not me Dimples, not me." He got silent after that. I did too. I may have gone a little far. But I haven't gone as far as I can go yet.

"And FYI, I'm back with my ex, so professional is all I want to be with you." Alright I'm done, I went too far.

I ended up scanning the room to look at the other partners and found Tammy partnered with some guy named Scott, I think, and Clarissa partnered with her crush, Lucas.
The 2 hours in class were up and Jesse couldn't have gotten out of there fast enough. I may have offended him for saying that, but he so deserved it for acting like an ass, when I did nothing wrong. Good thing I only see him in here.

Yay!! Another update! I noticed that there is less and less readers as the chapters go by, please tell me if you have stopped reading the book and why. But anyways, I love Smartass Allie (or Alexandra), she is hilarious. But don't forget to vote and comment! New chapter will be up this Friday!✨
