I can explain!

"Shit." I saw Jesse standing on the sidewalk, wide-eyed and confused, and I felt my heart ache at the sight.

"Cody, I promise we will talk about what just happened, but right now I need you to leave, please." He turned around and looked at Jesse with a small smirk on his face. That just made things 10 times worse.
Jesse stood on the sidewalk, confusion plastered all over his face, but once I stared walking towards him, he began walking away but being the tall, 6'4 ish man that he his, I could barely catch up to him.

"Jesse, wait!" I was practically running after him to catch up. Damn he has long strides, I didn't realize how short I was.

"I know this sounds cliché, but I can explain!" I was hoping he would stop after that. I was right.

"Give me one good reason why I should stay and listen to what you have to say, after I saw you kissing another man, right after I cancelled on our date, that's just a low blow Allie." I could think of a million reasons for him to stay but none of them were perfect.

"He kissed me, and I pushed him away, you had to have seen that." I had the worst of luck when it came to timing, if Jesse had just walked up 2 minutes later, he would have missed the kiss.

"I also saw you kiss him back. Wasn't he the guy from the coffee shop, the one you talked to?" I wanted to tell him that Cody meant nothing, but I wasn't sure.

"Yes, he's my ex, his name is Cody."

"So are you two a thing again, or what?" He stood with his hands in his pockets, talking calmly.

"No, it's more complicated than that, he just came back to town and it shocked me. Then he came here to talk and you know the rest."

"It's really none of my business, we had plans for one date and something came up so I cancelled, it's not like we're together." His face turned stone cold, a total 180 from the guy I had coffee with, and I could tell he was growing impatient and wanting to leave.

"I'm sorry, really, I didn't know you were coming." I spoke barely above a whisper.

"It's fine, I guess it's payback for Friday."

"No, Jesse, not at all, please don't think that, you said something happened with your sister,
I don't hold it against you." Was that jealousy, or hurt in his eyes?

"I understand, I should leave though." Said Jesse, as he started to walk away.

"Wait, did you come here to say something or ask me something? You showed up for a reason right?" After asking that I thought the only reason he would have come, would be to explain Friday.

"It wasn't important, see you later, Allie."

Then he was gone.

Ooh, shit's going down. Hello my lovely readers, thank you for reading this book, it is such an amazing sight seeing the amount of reads this book is getting in a short period of time :) Did anyone feel bad for Jesse in this scene? I know I did, but Allie handled it pretty well. Another update will be coming out Friday, and it will be longer, unlike this one which was mostly dialogue. Well, that's all, don't forget to vote and comment on the chapters💗
