Chapter 10

Mae POV
Jimin and I wake up and do our usual routine and go to school. I see Taehyung walking down the hall and wave to him. He stares at me for a second then walks off.
He definitely saw me. Why didn't he wave back?
I walk toward him and call out his name, but he doesn't notice me. I finally get to him and grab his shoulder.

"Didn't you hear me call you?"
He stares at me with a straight face.
"Nope."
He walks to class without another word.
What's up with him?
It's been a whole week now and he still hasn't said anything to me. I spot him, but he quickly walks away. I walk into class with my head down.

"Eyes to the front please. We have a new student today. Please introduce yourself." The teacher signaled a black haired boy.

"Hi my name is Choi Seung Cheol, but you can call me S.Coups."
He smiles. He sits down in front of me.
The bell rang and I head over to Bts's table. Before I go over there, I see S.Coups alone and walk over to him.

"Do you want to come sit with me and my friends?"
He looks up and smile. We walk over to the table and I see Taehyung.
"Tae I need to-"

"I gotta go bye guys."
He stands up and leaves. My hand reaches out to him, but I slowly take it back.

"oh yeah this is s. Coups by the way. S.coups this is my cousin Jimin and his friends Jungkook, Hoseok, Namjoon, Jin, and Yoongi. The guy that just walked off was Taehyung."
He shyly smiled. I stand up.
"I'll be right back. I'm going to use the restroom."
I head to the restroom and do my business. The same girls that came and questioned me came in. I got nervous and they saw how nervous I was. They look guilty.

"Hey Mae, umm we're sorry for bombarding you with questions. We didn't know you would faint. We just wanted to know more about Jimin."
My eyes soften as they lower their head.

"If you want to know more about him just talk to him. And I forgive you."
They smile and thank me.
I walk out the bathroom and is tackled.

"Oh thank goodness. I was about to come save you again."
I push Jennie off me and dusk off my skirt.

"I'm fine. They were just apologizing to me."
She sighs in relief.

"Do you want to hang or after school today?"
I smile and nod.

"Alright just text me where your house is and we can go shopping or something."
"We can just go right after school."
She nods and I wave to her walk back toward the table and see S. Coups and bts laughing together. As soon Taehyung spots me he leans over to Jimin, whispers something, and leaves. I frown but chase after him. He goes into the music room and I quickly go in and lock the door before he notices.

"What are you doing here?"
He asks in an irritated tone.

"Why are you ignoring me?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Are you serious? I've been trying to talk to you the past week and you've either pretended not to hear me or left before I could say anything."
He stays silent.
"Did I do something wrong? Is that why you're avoiding me?"

"No."

"Then what is it?"

"I just don't want to be friends anymore."
I feel my heart break into a million pieces.

"W-what?"

"Look I was just being nice by being your 'friend' but now I'm getting tired of pretending."

"Y-you're lying."
I try to hold my tears back.

"When have I ever lied?"

"N-no I know you don't mean any of this. Just tell me why."

"I don't have time for this anymore. Just go back to the S.Coups guy."
Tears fell down my face as he walks out the room. I try screaming for him but no noise came out. I start running toward him but I bump into someone making us both fall.

"Mae?"
I look up and see S.coups.

"What happened? Why are you crying?"
I couldn't say anything but cry. He tries console me and calm me down. Once I calm down I tell
him what happened.

"I'm going to kill him."
He clenches is jaw and balls his fist.

"No, it's fine. It's my fault he doesn't like me."

"Don't say that. It's his fault for missing out on such an amazing girl."
I smile a little. He wipes my tears away.
"Don't worry. I'll be here for you."
I nod as he pulls me closer to his chest.

Taehyung POV
I walk away with my fist clenched while biting my lip to prevent me from crying.
I did the right thing. She's better off without me. Why do I regret this?
I wanted to run back to her and hugs her and tell her everything, but it's too late.

"Taehyung?"
I turn around and see Jin.

"Hyung?"

"What happened? Why are you crying?" I touch my face and sure enough there were tears on my face. I wipe my tears away.
"It's nothing you need to worry about."

"Taehyung-ah I know something is wrong. Just tell me."

"Hyung I'm tired. I need to go home."
He looks at me with begging eyes to tell him what happened. I give him a fake smile and walk off. As I walk the halls, I see Mae hugging S.Coups. I clench my jaw. I angrily walk home with tears streaming down my face.
I knew she didn't need me.
I get home and lock myself in my room. I plop down on the bed, but I land on something soft. I lift my body and grab it from under me. It's my fox plush. I stare at Vick for a while. I get angry and throw it across the room and bury my face in a pillow.
