Three Weeks Later

"Roland! Baby, come down here!" I called, leaning on the doorframe while the sound of little feet rushed down the stairs, the little boy hesitating at the foot of the stairs once he laid eyes on me.

"I don't want to talk." He frowned, crossing his tiny arms as he shot a glare towards me, his brown eyes cross with frustration.

"Good, so let mama talk." I said with a wistful smile, holding my hand out towards him, watching him skeptically take it and lean in hesitantly.

"Listen, sweetie, I am so sorry that I missed Mommy Day at school. I know that it was very important to you, and that I hurt your feelings when I forgot. But sweetie, I promise you, that I didn't mean to, I know that I shouldn't have any excuses, and I am so sorry that I hurt you. Mama has been very busy with everything, but she should have made more time for her little munchkin. I know you're angry with me, but sweetie, I'm asking you to forgive me." I whispered, wiping his tears with my thumbs, cupping his precious face in my hands.

"I missed you mama." He whimpered, his chubby hands clutching my wrist sadly, making my own tears well up in my eyes.

"I did too. Now enough of that, come with me." I declared, standing up and clutching his outstretched hand.

I tried to hide my smile as I pushed the dining room doors open to reveal a room furnished completely in Christmas decor, different sweets covering the table, along with my eager husband fully dressed in a Santa Claus costume.

"Is this Mommy Day!" He cried, leaping up and down with excitement before slamming his tiny body around my legs, squeezing them tightly.

"I figured, since I missed the first one, it was my turn to throw you a Mommy Day." I revealed, handing him a frosted cookie with a grin. "Thank you mama." He cried, yanking on my hand, pulling me down to his level and throwing his arms around my neck, nuzzling his face in my neck.

"Of course, now here." I said handing him the card that I had vigorously taped back together after his meltdown.

"It's for you!" He cried, handing it back to me, along with a Christmas tree cookie. "Thank you my love, I hope you enjoy your Mommy Day. I also want you to know that I'm truly sorry for missing it, and I promise that you don't ever have to worry about me missing anything ever again." I vowed, taking his hands into mine, reaching out and tickling his stomach, a gleeful laugh being produced from his lungs as he tightened his grip on me and rested his head on my chest.

"Really?" He questioned, the poor boy had faced more shortcomings than anyone should at his young age, making me rub his back and exhale. "Of course, a Queen is always loyal to her little knight." I responded, kissing his temple before leading him over to his father.

"I need you to occupy Eliza while we get her baby shower ready." My mother requested while cleaning the Christmas decor, redecorating the living room with it while Snow covered the room in yellow decor.

"What?! What do I do with her? I barely know her." I cried, but she just raised her eyebrow at me with a smirk. "Exactly. Your brothers have both spent time with her, but if you take Evelyn with you, you two can do some bonding together. Try and find something that you two have in common, and do it until four thirty." She chuckled, handing me the diaper bag, lifting Evelyn from the walker and handing her over.
