Jenna's perspective:

The news about Rose's disappearance spread like wildfire in the school which made Jenna more uncomfortable. Everywhere she went, she felt eyes on her. Eyes of pity. She hated it. But no one came to talk to her. They all know Jenna's temper and decided it best to leave her alone to her fate. Only Drew seemed to care but Jenna didn't let him either. She became even more aggressive since Rose's disappearance.

It was three days later since Rose went missing. Drew offered to drop her home but she denied the offer. As she slumped out of school, she saw Ivy for the first time since Rose disappeared. She had her back to her and was talking with some guys. Probably flirting. Suddenly she felt an anger like she felt never before. She wanted to hit someone to let out her emotions and Ivy was the right target.

With an animal cry, she dashed at Ivy and spun her around and punched her on the face. The others uttered gasps of horror as blood trickled down Ivy's nose. The same feeling of tension when Ivy was near spread all over her again. Ivy turned up and saw Jenna scowling and her eyes widened.

"You!?" She gasped.

"Yeah, me, bitch," Jenna growled and hit her again.

The next blow came from Ivy which landed on Jenna's cheek. It was a really strong blow. She couldn't believe how somebody as delicate as Ivy could deliver such a punch but it hurt like hell. She felt as though her whole face had been distorted. Another punch sent her falling down on her back. Before the punch, she could have sworn she saw Ivy's pupils dilate like a cat's, covering almost all the purples of her iris. She could taste blood in her mouth. Her vision seemed to blur.

She noticed Ivy's hungry face. Wow, she really is mad. The whole of Ivy's face twisted in desperation to fly again at her. Still on the floor, Jenna saw her coming at her but she wasn't fast enough to avert the powerful kick on her side. She groaned and held her side in pain. Now Ivy was breathing rapidly, like a bloodthirsty animal. Suddenly, Jenna felt an overwhelming sensation of fear and anxiety. Ivy was about to kick her again when they both heard a voice.

"That's enough Starling."

Jenna turned to where the voice came from. She saw the red eyed tomboy glaring at Ivy. Ivy retreated from Jenna and faced the tomboy. They glared at each other for a while. Then Ivy gave a scornful laugh.

"And who do you think you are to tell me that? Huh?" She said, jabbing at the middle of the tomboy's chest with her finger.

Jenna saw the tomboy trying to remain calm but she could feel a disturbing aura about her. Distraction? The tomboy kept glancing at Jenna. Then she saw the red eyed guy appear behind the tomboy, with his arms crossed and a slight grin on his face.

Ivy also saw him. She stumbled a little when she first saw him.

"Hello Starling," he drawled, and gave a quick glance at Jenna, who was still on the floor, then added, "Not a bit changed, have you?"

"Well well well," Ivy cooed, circling around him. "If it isn't Trevor Dupont. You look....smashing as always."

Jenna had no idea what was going on. She scrambled to her feet. Drew was at once by her side.

"Hey you okay?" He asked, helping her up.

I've been hit by a doll face and got a bloody mouth with a throbbing face and a splitting pain in my side so I guess not!

"Never better," she replied sarcastically.

She expected him to admonish her giving her the 'I told you so' dialogue but he didn't, for which he earned another plus point from her.

Ivy and the others were still busy doing their thing but Jenna didn't want to stick around and wonder what was going on.  Besides, the dark and consuming aura was becoming too much for her to handle. She quietly left the scene feeling utterly ashamed. She felt like a bully running away but she had no business interfering with their affair. Once outside, she felt she could breathe again, minus the aurae.

"Wait up,"

She turned around and saw Drew catching up to her and frowned.

"What do you want? Leave me alone," she snapped.

"What just happened?" He asked, ignoring her.

"How should I know?" She replied. "I don't seem to be any wiser than you right now."

"Ivy's really asking for it," he frowned.

So am I.

Jenna grinned. Drew was standing up for her when he must have perfectly known that she started the fight.

"You were right, she is weird," she admitted, remembering how powerful her blows were. Never in her life had she been hit that hard. Her face still throbbed.

"And scary," he added.

"She must be a vampire after all," Jenna joked. "You know, a bad vampire with a sinister aura."

"Aura?"

"Yeah doofus," she sighed. "An invisible force surrounding them."

"Hey I know its meaning," Drew snapped. "I'm just saying aura in what sense? You see them? You feel them?"

Jenna stared at Drew for a few seconds in disbelief.

"You mean you don't feel anything when they're near?" She asked.

"Who?"

"Aargh..." She said impatiently. "Ivy, those red eyed guys."

"Red eyed guys?"

"Never mind," she sighed in withdrawal and gave up.

"Somebody needs a serious help with her temper," he frowned.

That made Jenna frown too because he was right. She hasn't been herself lately. It was obvious that Drew had never felt any aurae in his life. She never felt it either until those people came along. Maybe Drew was just too dumb to notice things around him. She dismissed him and headed home, thinking about how weird things were getting in her school. Coming here was the biggest mistake we ever made. She not only lost Rose, but she was also going crazy and her emotions were going out of control.
