The Decision

But Leah, I love you.

Leah froze.

Mavis?

She suddenly felt herself going back in time. A flashback from three years ago.

               * * * * * * * * *

"But Leah," she said, her eyes brimming with tears. "I love you."

Leah kissed her head.

"I'll be back Mavis, I promise."

It was Leah's first lesson of hunting. She was supposed to go out and kill. It was a condition where some die in the process.

Leah survived the lesson. But when she came back, Mavis was gone. Their circle had been attacked while they were out hunting. Nothing survived the attack.

Mavis....

"Leah?"

Leah came back to reality when Jenna called her name. She looked at her confused face.

"You okay?" Jenna asked.

Jenna had felt a sudden pang of loneliness coming from Leah. Do I always have to fucking feel what she's feeling?

"Seriously Hunter," Leah said coldly. "Is that the best you can do?"

Jenna stared helplessly as Leah walked into the school. Jenna could see that something was bothering Leah although she was trying to cover it up. She didn't know whether to stay or leave. She didn't want to go back to Sunny Heights and live her boring life there alone. People would question her about Rose and there was no way she could answer them.

"Oh well, might as well bear her wrath," she muttered to herself and walked into the school after Leah.

She looked for Leah but she lost her again. Damn! Why does she have to be as slippery as a fish?

Drew turned up right at that time. The sight of him made her guilty. She really was a little too harsh on him when all he was doing is trying to help.

"Jenna, where the hell have you been?" Drew asked, frowning. "I thought you disappeared like Ro-

Drew stopped himself before he could cause any harm to anyone.

"I'm sorry Drew," Jenna said apologetically. "Things have been so messed up lately."

"Don't you ever do that again," he pleaded. "You scared the hell out of me when you disappeared."

"Sorry," she repeated.
