I kept thinking about Shiro since last Friday night. I couldn't sleep well so Kuro wanting to eat wasn't much of a bother, even on Monday. However, I looked terrible in the mornings after I woke up.
"Peter, go wake up Lizzie, please." Once I heard Mom say that, I hid Kuro in my pajamas' pocket, rubbed my eyes, and groaned. I heard Peter's footsteps.
"Lizzie, wake u- AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH MONSTER! MONSTER! MOM! MONSTER ATE LIZZIE! AAAAAHHHH!" Peter suddenly screamed when he saw me. I thought he saw Kuro but, I was the monster.
"There's nothing such as monsters, Peter."
"NO! COME SEE!"
"Ugh, fine." Mom went up to my bedroom so she can explain to Peter.
"OH MY GOD! L-Lizzie, you scared me! I thought you were a criminal!" Mom took a deep breath to relax.
"See! Monster!"
"I'm not a monster, Peter!" I finally got to speak. "I'm your cute friendly older sister."
"Lizzie?"
"Yeah!"
"Lizzie!" Peter finally showed himself from behind Mom and hugged me.
"Monster didn't eat you, right?"
"Nope." He hugged me tighter.
"Okay now, let go of Lizzie and come eat your breakfast, Peter."
"Okay!"
With that, Peter let go of me and rushed to eat. I went to the bathroom and got out Kuro from my pocket.
"I'm your cute and friendly older sister. Cute, huh? You look like a monster." He whispered.
"Kuro! You're totally wrong!" I hissed.
"Wait, I think I'm wrong. You are a monster." He put a smirk on his face and giggled.
"Hmph!" I threw him in the washing machine and started taking my bath.
It was a Monday and usually I'm grumpy on Mondays, but this one was special - it was my birthday. Although I looked terrible, I was really energetic and happy today. My bath was extra relaxing so I felt encouraged to change my usual messy ponytail school hairstyle. I didn't know what to do with my hair so I just brushed it.
I waited for Kuro to get ready and as usual, he was fast. I put him in my school backpack and went to eat breakfast. Today, Mom made something special for breakfast - chocolate milkshake and a brownie. I controlled myself and ate normally so I can enjoy every bite and sip of my special breakfast. I even forgot about Kuro.
"Mom, I keep wondering how you got the time to make such a breakfast. Thank you so much! You're really the best mother anyone would ask for!" I hurried to hug my mother and plant a kiss on her cheek.
"Anything for you, sweetie." She hugged me back and planted a kiss on my cheek.
"We can't wait until everyone is back home again to celebrate your birthday!" My father entered the conversation.
I hugged everyone and planted a kiss on each of their cheeks, then, I went off. Kuro was quiet, not making much noise. I asked him whether he was fine and he answered with a cute wide smile.
When I entered the class, Emilia hugged me and shouted a "happy birthday". I'm sure that Asia heard her.
"Emi! Thanks, but you're too loud."
"Hehehe, it's my best friend's birthday so of course!"
She took something out from her backpack and told me to close my eyes. She moved me to what I thought was my seat and started doing something with my hair.
