Harvey speaking
Donna speaking

Anything and everything could trigger it. It started with her, not because he couldn't stand change but because he didn't want to lose her. Because she was the thing that held him together that kept him standing and when she left him his whole world collapsed. He rushed into the closest room without a glass door. The file room.

It seemed empty, or so he thought. He collapsed against the door as soon as he had shut it. His heavy loud breathing was enough to attract the attention of the only other person in the room. It was just his luck that it was her.

"Oh my god! Harvey! What's happening?"
"Donna..."

His voice was barely a whisper but she heard him. She sat on the floor beside him and placed a hand on his cheek.

"It's ok Harvey. You're gonna be ok. I'm calling an ambulance"
"Donna... no..."
"What do you mean no? You could be having a heart attack for god's sake!"
"It's not... it's a panic...attack"

Donna couldn't believe what she was hearing. Panic attacks! How the heck did that happen? She tried to understand him.tried to calm him down. When his laboured breathing wasn't easing she placed his head close to her chest and held him. And she never wanted to let go. Eventually he calmed down and he was ready to go back to work. He was well aware the conversation he was about to have with Donna would be an awkward one. He pulled himself from her and stared into her eyes. She was silent but her eyes were asking a thousand questions.

"How long?"
"Two months"
"And you didn't think to tell me?!...You've been dealing with this on your own."
"I'm sorry"
"For what?"
"For being an ass to you after you left to work for Louis"
"And so you should be"
"Donna I need to tell you something"
"What... what is it?"

She was worried. She wanted to cry, not for herself, for him. How could she not have seen it? She's supposed to know everything, especially when it came to the an she loves.

"These panic attacks... are because I couldn't handle it without you. When you told me you were leaving... I felt like I couldn't breathe. Like someone just tore my heart out of my chest. And they did. You did. You've had my heart for a long time and it felt like you were running away and taking it with you."
"Harvey.."

Her tone made it sound like more of a warning than anything else. She didn't want him to say it because she was too afraid of what it would mean for her. For them.

"Donna it's killing me, not being able to say it. I'm in love with you"
"Harvey we... why?"
"I don't know. But it's not my fault. It's your loyalty and your humour and your trustworthiness... and the fact that you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life"
"You really have fallen for me haven't you"
"Yup and I can never take it back"

She was staring at the ground hoping and praying that this was one of her fantasies. His finger lifted her chin up so she looked at him. She felt her heart skip a beat every time she looked at him. Judging by their closeness he was quite sure she could hear his heart beating out of his chest. She placed a hand on his chest and leaned in to kiss him. The kiss was passionate and getting more heated by the second until she pulled away. Her forehead rested on his as they both caught their breath.

"I have to go... but maybe we can continue this 'conversation' at my place later. Around 8:30"
