Donna POV
This was a crisis. What am I going to do? And now I'm late for work. Great. Jesus. Pull yourself together. You're a grown goddamn woman for Christ's sake. Check into a hotel. Problem solved. Wait... what about my wardrobe. FUCK. Hang on a minute. Harvey had a pretty spacious condo. No. He's my boss. I can't do that. But... he is also my friend. I think? Ok I'll just ask him. If he doesn't have a problem with it why should I?Narrator POV
She strolls into work at 11AM like she owns the place, she kind of has the right to do so though, the firm would collapse within 5 minutes if it wasn't for her (as someone once said). She sets her bag down at her cubicle and looks towards his office to find him buried deep in paperwork. He feels her gaze on him and his eyes move upwards to meet hers, she smiles at him. It's now or never she thinks as she strolls into his office."Nice of you to finally show up" he toys
"Oh ha-ha, I was dealing with an issue" she admits
"Really? It was that important that you had to be 3 hours late for work" he pushes.
"Fine! If you must know, my building is having a bed bug issue, they're evacuating my floor for a week" she can finally breathe now.
"Oh... you need a place to stay?" he asks
Oh sweet Jesus thank Zeus for this man, her hero she thought.
"Actually yeah... all the hotels are either fully booked, too far from work or complete shit holes"
He laughs at her. Se hasn't heard him laugh in weeks, the pressure of the cases draining all the energy from him lately.
"So I'll have some stuff sent over if that's okay with you?"
"Yeah of course"
"Thank you Harvey"
"It's okay Donna. You know I'd do anything for you"
It's those words that get her heart beating quicker as she diverts her gaze to the floor.
"Okay see you later" she tells him before she leaves.Later that night he returns home to find to find multiple suitcases in his hallway, and a beautiful redhead in his kitchen stirring up some sort of concoction. Her hair is pulled into a bun, her face is make-up free, she'd dressed in leggings and his old Harvard shirt, singing along to the record that is playing. He smiles at the sight of her, how she fits right in at his home and makes it seem more... homely.
"Isn't that shirt mine?"
She jumps at the sound of his voice, but smiles widely nonetheless.
"Oh so now you realise it's missing" she retorts.
"When did you end up with it?" He questions.
"That time with the storm and all the rain and the wet clothes" she explains knowing he'd know exactly what she was talking about.
"Oh" he realises.
"So... whatcha cooking"
"Spaghetti"
"Yum"
"Im gonna go get out of this suit, as much as I love my Tom Ford it can get pretty uncomfortable after a while."
"Ok" she said going back to the pot of sauce. He returns within a few minutes, dressed in light khaki pants and a black top. She cant help but think about how handsome and sexy he looks. The food is ready and she's plating it up while he finds a nice bottle of wine. She sets the plates on the counter in front of the barstools as he places the wine and glasses on the table.
"Red?" She questions grading the wine.
"Your favourite" he grins at her then, Harvey Specter can be intuitive too.
Their dinner is full of banter and witty conversation, soon dinner comes to an end."That was delicious. Thank you" he says as he pecks her cheek with a kiss. The action was not common between them, she blushed and of course he noticed but being the 'gentleman' he is he didn't mention it. They moved to the sofa to work on some case files. Forever working. At one point he noticed her nodding off so he shook her softly to tell her to take his bed.
"Go to bed Donna"
"I'm fine Harvey. It's only 10."
"You're tired Donna"
"Am not"
Suddenly he stood up, grabbing her hand and dragging her towards the bedroom.
"Bedtime"
"Seriously?"
"Yep"
She pulled back the covers and slipped into bed, just as he was about to leave her hand grabbed hold of his.
"Stay" she whispered
"Donna-"
"Please"
He nodded and slipped into the other side of the bed.
"Goodnight Donna"
"Night Harvey"
During their sleep. Her body shifted towards his and her head rested in the crook of his neck, her lips just about grazing his neck. His arms had wrapped around her waist, holding her close. He woke up first and smiled as he noticed their sleeping positions. She looked beautiful, even now with her mouth open and her hair all over the pillow. He reminisced all their old memories and how she had been there for him through thick and thin. How she held him together when he was at rock bottom... how he loved more than anyone. She groaned as she blinked a few times, greeted with his face in the early hours of the morning and a smile that could make her melt. Then she realised how close they were, his arms wrapped around her, their lips mere inches apart.
"Sorry" she said attempting to break away from the embrace but his hold on her tightened "Harvey" she warned.
"Just wait... please" he begged
"I need to get..."He silenced her by pushing his lips onto hers and claiming her mouth. She moaned against his lips and he smiled in return. He broke off the kiss, leaving her breathless. She stared into his eyes searching for an answer. His hand moved to her to brush a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"I was thinking and you're the one person in my life who always supported me, always thought about what's best for me-"
She cut him off with a passionate kiss and rolled on top of him....
They arrived at the firm together a few hours late, hand-in-hand, with the biggest shit-eating grins on their faces.
