They all stare at me with blank expressions that turn into humored. They bust out laughing and so do I, laughing into my hands.
"I can't believe you actually did that." Louis says.
"Who knew you were so spontaneous?" Harry says to me, with a sly smile and a wink. All suspicions of him liking me evaporate and I find myself relieved. I don't need or want a relationship with Harry, he's my friend.
"Harry, why didn't you bring her to hang out with us sooner? You square." Niall says and throws a pillow at him. Harry deflects it and laughs. Who knew doing something completely out of character would win the friendship of four attractive celebrities...
"Yeah Harry. Keeping me for yourself?" I say with a smirk.
"Looks like your boyfriend is coming back for another round." Zayn says while pointing behind me. I turn around to find the guy I kissed walking straight toward me. Oh brother. I go to speak but he puts his hand in front of my face to silence me.
"Listen, sweetheart," I try not to laugh out loud, but from the sound of it the rest of the boys can't hold it in, and they're all laughing through their teeth behind me. "I don't know how to tell you this, but I got a girlfriend downstairs. That kiss was extraordinary and bold, but I just don't think it can work out for us." He ends with a sympathetic look. It's literally taking all my self-control not to burst into laughter. But, I decide to give this guy a self confidence boost instead. I pout with my bottom lip.
"But... but..." I look away and squint my eyes.
"I'm sorry, but it's just not right." He says. Oh my goodness, this is too good. I look toward the ceiling pretending I'm trying to fight tears. "I understand." He gives me a pat on the back and walks away. I turn to the boys, and I smile confidently at them, clearly proud with my acting skills. They burst into laughter. Harry's rolling on the floor with his eyes squeezed shut, while Niall is slapping his knee. I can't help, but join them. Their laughs are hilarious, and it only makes me laugh harder.
Louis stops long enough to do his best impression of my pouty face. "But.. but.." he mocks, and they all start to laugh again.
"Hayley we just might have to bring you on tour with us in April." Niall says smiling at me.
Tour?
"I just might." I say and take a sip of whatever's in front of me.
Tour?
"That was too good." Zayn says while wiping the corner of his eyes. I'm happy I made a joke of it, instead of calling that guy out.
They're going on tour?
We talk for the remainder of the night, joking around and telling funny stories. Before we know it, everyone's gone from their flat, and it's 3 o'clock in the morning.
"I think it's time for me to get going." I say. They all check the time on their phones and shocked by how time just slipped away. "Would you like to take a car back, so you won't have to take a taxi?" Harry offers. I sigh in relief and accept his offer.
"That would be great."
"I'll come with you" he adds. All the other boys smile and wiggle their eyebrows at Harry and he punches the boy closest to him.
"It's not like that guys." He says as his cheeks flush. I can't help but smile, because it's true. Harry's one of my best friends, to be honest.
We take the elevator down, and step I to the empty lobby. We walk out to the street and I don't see the black car I arrived in.
"Where's the car?" I look back at Harry and he's standing next to a limousine holding the door open. He has an embarrassed smile on and isn't showing any teeth.
"No way." A huge smile spreads across my face, my excitement clearly showing. I strut over and stop right before I get it.
"I mean, I guess this is okay. This the best you can do Styles?" I say sarcastically, flashing him a smirk. He rolls his eyes and says, "You're infuriating. Get in." I lift my eyebrows at him before climbing into the limo. He piles in after me, and tells the driver the address to my building.
"Did you have fun tonight?" he asks me.
"Loads. I really like the other guys."
"They're alright." He says causally but I know he's being sarcastic.
"Really though, thank you for inviting me, I had a great time hanging out with you guys." I add.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that because I was going to ask if you wanted to come to breakfast with me and Liam tomorrow morning?"
I love the idea of spending more time with them. It feels good to have friends.
"I don't know.." I tap my chin. "I've got a pretty busy schedule." I smirk at him.
He laughs and looks out the window.
"I'll pick you up at 9:30." Is he joking?
"9:30?! Why so early?"
"You think 9:30 is early?" he scoffs.
"Yeah. If I knew you'd ask me to go at the crack if dawn maybe I would of had to reconsider." I wouldn't of said no. I'm not going to pass up spending time with them.
"You're such a baby. Be ready at 9:30."
"Fine." I say sarcastically.
"You're somethin' else, ya know that?" Harry says to me, and I smile at him.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" I cross my arms over my chest and give him a bit of attitude.
"I don't know." He smiles down at his twiddling thumbs. "But it's definitely a good thing."
"Harry Styles, did you just give me a compliment?" I tease, earning a smile from the most handsome man I've ever seen.
"I don't know. Did I?" He smirked at me, and I felt my stomach drop.
The grin across my face is almost impossible to wipe off as we pull up to my building.
"Thanks again Harry for.. ya know, everything."
"Oh uh..." He looks at me awkwardly. "I was planning on walking you up actually." Harry looks nervous. Harry, nervous?
"Oh ya." I let out a laugh "That would be lovely.
We make small talk on our way up the elevator and when it finally dings we walk into my apartment. I totally forgot I left a huge mess of clothes. Sweaters and dresses were everywhere, not to mention shoes were sprawled all over my furniture.
"It looks like your closet threw up." Harry says and I can't help but laugh at the way his accent makes it sound.
"I was having some issues this afternoon.." I say obviously embarrassed.
"I learn something new about you everyday Hayley Stewart." He flashes that damn dimple at me, and I blush.
"And what exactly did you learn about me today Harry?" I give him a challenging look.
"You're a pig." He winks at me and I punch him in the arm.
"See you in the morning jackass." I say jokingly. I'm loving this carefree friendship we have going on.
"Until then."
Harry leans in to give me a hug goodbye, and I can honestly say he gives phenomenal hugs. His build makes me feel so safe, and warm within his grasp. I was disappointed when he let go and started to walk toward the elevator. I secretly hoped the elevator would break down or the power would go out again. As he steps into the elevator we wave at each other until it closes, and I find myself not wanting him to go. I'm completely satisfied on the way tonight turned out.
Harry Styles was almost too good to be true, and this friend thing is looking to only get more and more difficult.
