My legs burned and sweat poured down my face as we ran. Andrea was ahead of me by a couple feet, still holding onto my arm. I glance over my shoulder seeing only three walkers, pretty far behind, limping their way to us.
I stop, making her turn to look at me, whilst gasping for breath. I lean against a tree, giving my legs and lungs a break. Andrea stood beside me with her eyes closed, catching her breath.
"I-- i can't believe they left us." Andrea said, tears daring to fall down her face. I leaned off the tree and hugged her. I had no way of communicating with her, so I did my best to confront her. "What do we do Nicole?" She asked, as if I could respond.
Sighing, I look around. My eyes caught a glimpse of a well a little to our West. I grabbed her arm, pulling her in that direction. She obliged, allowing me to pull her to the well. As we got closer to it, i saw a cabin come into view. It looked so untouched by everything, but looks can be deceiving.
Andrea clutched her gun in her hand, as I held my hatchet, slowly making our way to the front door. The door shot open, as soon as we reached it. A man, tall, short brown hair, missing hand where a knife is and a crazy look on his face stepped out.
"Merle!" Andrea said, shocked. I stood there with a questioning look, as he stared at us. "You're alive..."
"Nice to meet you again, sugar tits." 'Merle' laughed, propping himself up on the railing.
"Nicole, this is Daryl's brother." Daryl has a brother?
"You don't talk much, do ya girly?" Merle smirked, glancing between us.
"She's mute, Merle." Andrea sighed, shaking her head.
"So how's my baby brother?"
"Still a pain in the ass." Andrea sighed again as I laughed and nodded, but then it faded into sadness as I realized, I'd probably never see Daryl again.
"Where's he at?"
"Don't know. The group got separated."
"Damn. I guess y'all need a place to stay, huh?"
"Yeah."
"Well you're good old buddy Merle knows the perfect place. It's called Woodbury."

*Daryl's POV*
"Where's Nicole?" I ask, getting off my bike. Everyone was there besides Andrea, Nicole, Patricia and Jace.
"S--she was with Andrea. I watched them go down." Beth sobbed, clutching onto her dad's side.
"Patricia?" Maggie asked, holding onto Glenn, looking around at us. She was trying her best not to cry, as she talked.
"S--she got r-ripped from my grasp." Beth cried harder onto Hershel, as he silently sobbed too.
I dropped my crossbow to my side, and rushed to my bike. I turn the key, listening to it startup.
"Daryl! Where are you going?" Rick called out, rushing over to me.
"Im gonna go find Nicole! I know she ain't dead..." I paused. "I just know it." My voice cracked as I fought back tears.
"We can't risk leading the walkers here." Rick reasoned, placing his hands on my bike. I shook my head, turned off the bike and sighed. "We'll look once we find a place to stay at, ok?" Rick asked, as I nodded but didn't get off of the bike.
"Where are we gonna go?" Carol asked, as everyone looked around the dead highway.
*Nicole's POV*
'Woodbury'
Woodbury was a giant, fenced off, town. People chatted, kids played, guards watched; protecting the place. Andrea and I were in complete shock. This place is great.
"Welcome to Woodbury girls." Merle smirked, watching our shocked faces. "Let's go meet the boss. He likes to be called The Governor."
We followed Merle like lost puppies as he led us into a huge building. We walked up two flights of stairs and into a big room, where a man was sitting.
"Ah, newcomers. Welcome!" The man smiled and made a friendly gesture. I smiled and nodded as Andrea did the same as me.
"This is Andrea and Nicole. She's 'mute'." Merle put quotation marks when he said mute, making huff and nod.
"Oh, I guess you're gonna need a translator." The man said. "Preston!" He yelled as a man walked in. He glanced at us and smiled. The guy was a giant. He had long black hair, pulled into a bun and dark brown eyes. Very attractive, but I have Daryl. Daryl...
"Meet Nicole. She's mute." The governor greeted him to me as i waved. He took my hand and brought it up to his lips, placing a gentle kiss before returning it to my side. "You'll stick with her."
"Gladly." His deep voice rang out, a bigger smile pressing its way to his face.
"Merle, Preston show the ladies their rooms."
"C'mon." Merle said, opening the door and walking out, followed by me, Andrea and Preston.
"Now don't be flirting with Nicole, 'Preston'. She's taken." Andrea laid down some ground rules, making me nod my head and making my heart break even more.
"Oh no, i'm not like that. Im actually gay." Preston awkwardly laughed, scratching the back of his neck. I smiled and continued on my trip to my new sleeping place.
