While Kelli and I were out searching the city, we ended up down by the river. The water was rushing downstream too fast so every time Kelli tried to skip rocks they sunk straight to the bottom. We were wearing matching peach short shorts and white crop tops. My black Vans were a bit dirty from walking in some dirt but it was okay. Our brown hair hung down freely.
“You know that’s not going to magically skip across the water. Right?” I heard a very familiar voice come up from behind us. I turned around to see Jessie. I gasped and got up. He hugged me tightly. Kelli was clearly annoyed by his comment.
“You were suppose to bring Baylor with you.” I teased giving Jessie a play punch making him let go. I knew him very well from texting him. He was Baylor’s best friend and he never minded.
“I know,” He looked disappointed. “but there is a party back at my house if you want to meet the rest of the team and of course beer. Lot’s of beer.” He smiled at me. I know he didn’t mean anything by it.
“What team? Who is this guy anyways?” Kelli yelled from the back confused and still angry.
“He was drafted by The Pittsburgh Penguins. He’s Baylor’s best friend.” I answered.
Kelli’s eyes got big instantly. “I’m sorry and this party? Is Beau Bennett going to be there by change?” Beau was her favorite player. Coming from Columbus you would think our favorite team would be the Blue Jackets but it was actually the Penguins.
Jessie laughed shaking his head yes. “We really can’t. We just got here tonight.”
“Brooke! Stop being such a stick in the mud. A little beer won’t hurt us. Plus Beau will be there and you know how much that would mean to me.” Kelli said pulling my arm.
“Fine. We’ll follow you in our car.” Jessie smiled and we went on our way.
Jessie owned a huge house away from everybody else’s. His house was already full of people. The DJ was playing so load the front yard was shaking. Before I could even say “this is a bad idea” Kelli was already dragging inside. She started drinking quickly while I took my time. She has been to many more parties than me so if was her normal night out.
I was looking for Kelli when I ran into a big man with his back to me. He turned around and grabbed me before I lost balance. “You’re Sidney Crosby!” The guy next to him turned around laughing at me. “You’re Marc-Andre Fleury! I spoke again amazed.
“And you are just a bit drunk.” Fleury said laughing even more.
“C-can I have a picture?” I was stuttering because I had too much to drink. They agreed and took the picture not looking angry at all. I uploaded it to Facebook and then everything went into a blur. I drank more and more until I ran into somebody else that had to hold me up from falling. A man. He kinda smelled like Baylor. I tried to keep my eyes open but I couldn’t fight it anymore. I passed out in his arms.
I woke up the next morning with the worst headache. I was confused and didn’t know where I was. I kept looking around but the white bright room burned my eyes. I covered my face with the covers again and closed my eyes. It was the worst headache I have ever had.
