Lisa held the glasses in her hands and was about to break it into two when a strong hand stopped her. The grip on her felt like her hands were encased in iron cuffs. She raised her eyes to his face and what she saw was totally unexpected.

She had expected to see a hard grumpy face or a guy who looked hard and wicked. However the boy who was staring back at her had soft hazel eyes which were a little too brown for his own good. Those brown eyes were looking at her now in a seemingly mocking manner and she could see a little bit of rage forming in them.

'Let me go' she said quietly, her anger suddenly vanishing into the thin air.

He smiled and snatched his glasses from her hands without saying a word, put it back on and then his smile vanished.

He turned around and left, still munching on his doughnuts leaving Lisa standing there alone. Lisa sighed heavily. It was then she realized she had been holding her breath.

Lisa took one good look at Deb and realized that she should be grateful. Deb looked like she was going to faint. Her face revealed all the emotions that were going through her mind; anger, frustration and hopelessness.

'Are you okay?' Lisa asked slowly, somewhat already knowing the answer to that question. Deb just stared at her and muttered something inaudible which Lisa didn't exactly catch.

'What did you say?' Lisa said, a certain dread now filling her thoughts that just maybe the processes had driven her best friend mad.

Deb took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Rubbing her face, she opened her eyes and the life seemed to be back in them.

'School is frustrating, I feel like dying already' she said finally collapsing into a chair next to Lisa.

'The feeling is mutual girl' Lisa said clearly feeling her pain.

'Well, any interesting thing come up today?' Deb asked. Lisa's mind drifted immediately to the guy on shades. She started opening her mouth to blast him in front of her friend, but for some reason, she stopped herself from speaking about him.

'Nothing much' she replied instead looking quite serious. Deb glanced at her looking surprised.

'Really?' she asked.

'Yeah, why?' she asked back.

'Well, strange things always happen when you are around...strange things with strange people' she said getting up while stretching at the same time.

If she only knew how true that statement was true, Lisa thought smirking silently to herself.

'Come on, we got to go now' Lisa said. 'Getting sick of being in school already'.
Lisa chuckled and nodded her head in agreement.

Lisa and Deb made their way to the hallway which led to the exit. Anyone seeing them would think a hurricane had just gone through them. They looked pretty exhausted.

Lisa sighed as the soft breeze hit the little hairs on her face and momentarily closed her eyes. When she opened them, Deb had left her way behind. She hurried to meet up with her but her eyes kept observing the students who were all heading home, looking for a certain dark-haired brownish snobbish guy even though she would never admit it if she was asked.

Not seeing him anywhere, she rolled her eyes as she got into the driver's seat of the car and started the car. The engine roared to life as she made her way off the campus. Her mind drifted a little to her family. Her dad was dead leaving her mom alone when she was just a little girl. She was the only child but thanks to the trust funds her dad had left them, they were living quite comfortably and her mom had no stress whatsoever. Her mom worked at the hospital as a nurse and so had to work long shifts at the local hospital. She had grown up being practically known as "the nurse's daughter" and most people didn't even know her name was Lisa till she had grown to her late teens.

She pressed down on the throttle a bit and the car picked up speed, a little bit more than Deb would have liked.

'Hey slow down before you get us both killed' Deb said glancing nervously at her. Lisa chuckled as she gathered even more speed.

Lisa Marie Bailey, what the hell do you think you are doing? Deb shouted, the panic clear in her eyes.

'Relax, I was only testing out this baby' Lisa said smirking as she slowed down.

'Hey, you never told me if anything interesting happened your way' Lisa said still facing the road.

'Oh, yeah...well' Deb said.

'Yeah?' Lisa said trying to egg her friend on.
'I met this guy...' the sound of Deb's phone cut her short.

'Sorry, one second' she said picking her call.
'No problem' Lisa said concentrating on the road again.

She had been friends with Deb since the 6th grade when Deb had transferred to their school. Their first encounter had been when Lisa had saved Deb from having her ass whooped by the school's bullies. Lisa chuckled remembered how scared she was herself as she threatened them and the wave of relief she felt when they had walked away sulking. They had been friends since then and their families had even become closer.

She heard Deb drop the phone and glanced at her to see her already looking at her sheepishly.

'What?' Lisa asked wondering what was up.

'We are the new owners of an apartment! We are leaving home Lisa'

'Yes!' Lisa shouted and pressed down on the throttle with all the force she could muster. Her action was greeted with a loud shriek from Deb.

'So when are we checking it out?' Lisa asked Deb after she had stopped screaming.

'How about right now? it's just around the corner'

'What street?' Lisa asked her.

'Heaven's gate' Deb answered quickly.

After driving a bit more, the car came to a stop in front of a house.

They both got out of the car and gazed at the house.

'This is the symbol of our college days' Deb muttered dreamily.

'Yeah' Lisa said almost to herself. She turned around to take in the surroundings. They were houses and the place looked very well- developed. She was pretty satisfied when she noticed a figure sitting at the balcony of the house directly opposite theirs.

Turning to see who it was, she noticed something very familiar; the figure had dark shades on and he was munching on something. Her jaw clenched as his glasses and her eyes seemingly locked on each other.

With one of his eyebrows raised, he smiled and slowly raised his dough-nut in salute to her.
