Just a warning that this chapter is short. Its just a filler to a larger chapter. Enjoy xoxo

After the doctor gave everyone the bad news, as expected everyone broke down. Ashley’s mom took it the hardest. She was crying so much the doctors had to sedate her just to get her to calm down for the night. The girls were crying and even Devon was shedding some tears but for some reason Nayla couldn’t cry. It wasn’t that she wasn’t sad because she was but something inside of her just shut down. Experiencing all of this made her feel like this is what she had to look forward to. She was completely numb. While the rest of the group was crying she just stared at the hospital bed in the room.

Later, everyone thought it was best to leave since Ashley wasn’t allowed to have visitors yet. Sky and Tiyanna came together so they left the same way. Devon sat for a while watching Nayla and we she still didn’t move he thought it was best to get her out of there. He grabbed her hand to pull her up and there was no resistance on her part. He tried talking to her on their way out but all he got was one word responses. In the car the silence continued and he was beginning to get worried. While he was driving he called his mom to meet them outside so she could she Nayla for herself.  When they finally pulled up to the building Margret came rushing to Nayla’s side of the car to open it up. She opened the door and Nayla just sat there staring out the window. Margret looked at Devon and he just shook his head.

“Sweetie are you okay?” Margret asked.

She didn’t answer her she just continued to stare out of the window.

No matter what they asked her she didn’t answer them. After a while they gave up and helped her into her room. When the door opened, to their surprise she broke away from them and went to lie in her bed. She pulled the covers up to her neck and turned her back on them. Devon got a call and eventually had to leave for the night. Before he left he went over to her side to say goodbye. He sat down on the bed and touched her cheeks. She was showing some emotion at last. Tears were rolling down her face. He gently wiped the tears away. He didn’t know what to say to her so he just grabbed her hand and held it for a while. When it was time for him to leave he kissed her on the forehead and left. Margret stood in the doorway watching the whole thing. She stood there a couple minutes after he left trying to pull herself together before she went to talk to Nayla.

After some deep breaths she sat down on the bed. She didn’t speak she just looked at her.

“Nayla baby sit up for me” she said softly.

For a minute she didn’t move at all. Then slowly she turned around to face her but didn’t sit up. That was all Margret was going to get.

“Okay, well at least I can see you. Sweetie please say something”

        Silence.

“Fine just listen then. Before everything happened with Ashley I was going to call you to come into my office. I know it’s been about a month and a half since you got the new from the doctor but Nayla I know you were scheduled to go every week since then. You are supposed to get your blood pressure checked and blood drawn and you haven’t been at all. He’s been calling my office worried sick about you”

Margret looked at her waiting for a response but all she got was more tears.

“Are you even taking your medication still?”

        She nodded but didn’t speak.

“I know what happened with Ashley today scared you but that doesn’t mean you just shut down all of a sudden. Hope needs you to hold on for her and believe it or not my son does to. Ashley never gave up even when she knew the risks but she held on for as long as she could and now just might be her time to go. You don’t think all of these girls want to give up? They do but they know it’s not about them anymore, it’s about those babies that their holding on for. So cry now or do whatever it is you need to do but get yourself together.”
