Chapter 15

It's been a while you guys, sorry about that! I've been working on this chapter for a while so i hope you like it!

“So you knew about her all along? So what you just forgot to mention her?” Nayla said angrily.

“It’s a bit more complicated then it seems and honestly I expected him to tell you himself” Margret confessed.

“What is so complicated about it? Either he’s in a relationship or he’s not simple as that!” she yelled.

“It’s not my place to tell you”

“No, you said you wanted to explain, so go ahead and do it”

“I want to believe me I do but I don’t know if I should”.

Nayla was getting angrier and angrier by the second. She took the box she held in her hands with Ashley’s belongings and slammed it on her desk.

“Fine don’t tell me but how dare you give me a speech about how disappointed you were in me.  The whole time you knew he was talking to someone else. Sleeping with someone else no less. You knew I was starting too really like him but you let me look like a fool”

She turned around to walk out the door but Margret wasn’t done talking.

“Devon loves you Nayla, he really does. What happened between Michelle and him was a mistake that should have never happened. What they had, was over a long time ago trust me” she pleaded.

“No, no he doesn’t. You wouldn’t do something like this to someone you love. Brandon would have never done something like this to me” Nayla yelled back.

Margret stood up from her desk.

“Brandon was no angel! You think you know him but you don’t know him at all. Before he met you he was in and out of jail all of the time, stealing from his parents behind their back. He even came here a couple of times and broke into some of the girls rooms. All of that to support his habit. Yea he went to rehab but he ended up with AIDS and now look what has happened. Don’t you pretend he was some angel that could do no wrong!”

“Don’t you dare say a bad word against him! He was no angel but he loved me when no one did. He might have done some bad stuff in the past but he had changed so you can’t hold his past against him” she cried while rubbing her stomach. Nayla cried like she had never cried before. Tears fell down her face and onto her shirt. It was heartbreaking to watch.

Margret sat back down. A shocked expression was on her face. She couldn’t believe she had just gone that far.

“I’m so sorry sweetie. I don’t know why I said those things. I loved Brandon to. Please sit down”

Nayla hesitated but eventually sat down.

“I didn’t mean to go that far. Please know that. If you really want to know what happened between Michelle and Devon, I’ll tell you.” She cleared her throat and began.

“When Devon was a freshman in college, he was dating Michelle and to him they were pretty serious. They met during the summer and those two were inseparable after that.  To tell you the truth she never seemed like she was really ready to be in a relationship”

“Wait, Devon told me this last night. He just said it was some girl and he didn’t tell me her name but he said she got pregnant and had an abortion. He said it tore him apart when she finally told him

Margret nodded

“He told you half of the story. After Michelle told him about the abortion she became very depressed and eventually dropped out of school all together. Well after that we didn’t hear from her for five whole years, but one day last year she turned up hear at the resort. Devon couldn’t believe it when he saw her. They went out on a couple of dates and he apologized for having pushed her to have an abortion. I tried telling him it wasn’t his fault but he never would listen to me. A couple of days later she wanted to meet with me and Devon in my office. So we all sat here as she confessed to what she had done. Turns out she didn’t have an abortion, she kept the baby. He was born happy and healthy about a week after Devon’s birthday.”
