        “Please wake up!” someone screamed.

The darkness didn’t last long for Nayla, she was coming back slowly even though she didn’t want to. She could feel someone shaking her but every time she tried to open her eyes everything was spinning. Whoever was there was screaming for her to wake up and trying to lift her head up.

“Nayla you need to wake up!” the person screamed again.

All she wanted to do was make the noise stop. It was making her head hurt even worse than it was. She decided to try to say something.

“I don’t feel so good everything is spinning” Nayla said while squinting to look at the mystery person.

From what she could see it was the girl she had met right before she left the resort grounds. She must have followed her here.

“I called an ambulance already and they should be here soon but I need you to stay awake for me okay” Maddie said.

Nayla’s eyes were closing but Maddie shook her to open them back up. She felt so sick and all she wanted to do was sleep. Her hand went to her stomach by accident and all of a sudden she started to panic. Throughout this whole plan she never realized how selfish she was being. Not once did Hope cross her mind. Her baby girl didn’t deserve this. It was too late she had already taken the pills. How could she have been so stupid? Ignoring Maddie’s voice she allowed her eyes to close.

Maddie yelled at her again but she just wasn’t waking up. She tried shaking her but nothing was working. Tears were starting to fall because she was so scared. She laid Nayla’s head back down on the blanket and grabbed her phone to call Margret.

“Margret where is the ambulance at, it should have been here by now” she said panicking.

“It’s on the way. I had to call the hospital in town and it takes a while to get out there but it is on the way so don’t worry. How is she?”

“I don’t know. She opened her eyes and said she wasn’t feeling good and now I can’t get her to wake up. I don’t know what to do!”

“Stay calm you don’t need to panic. Can you find what pills she took?”

Maddie held the phone against her neck while she searched for the pill bottle. She grabbed Nayla’s bag and dug through it but there was no sign of it anywhere. She stood up and looked on the blanket and it wasn’t there either. Walking away from the blanket she searched nearby in case bottle rolled somewhere when Nayla fell on the blanket. At first she didn’t see anything but then over by the lake she saw it. Walking as fast as she could she bent down and grabbed it.

“Okay I found it but these pills aren’t even hers their Ashley’s” Maddie said.

“She must have taken them from her room when no one was looking, what’s the name of the medication?”

        “Something called zolpidem tartrate”

“Oh god there sleeping pills, I used to have a prescription myself when I had trouble sleeping”

Maddie was going to ask a question but she heard the ambulance coming.

“Margret I have to go the ambulance is here” she said while hanging up.

The paramedics parked and came rushing to Maddie and Nayla. She told them what was going on and even showed them the pill bottle. When they checked Nayla’s pulse it was slow and uneven, and her breathing was shallow. Normally some medicine would be administered to get her stabilized but because she was pregnant there wasn’t anything they were comfortable giving her. All they could do was incubate her and carry her into the ambulance.
