Locked away, once again in a small white room. It looked exactly like the one back at the facility but, it's been so long since I've seen that room, and I'm kinda glad. I laid back down on my bed and watched the fan spin on the ceiling. Following and watching just one blade. I slowly found myself falling asleep, maybe it would be a nice dream for once.
Knocking... at my cell door. I rose up out of my bed to the door being opened my Captain Reid. "Emily, your sister sent me to get you." He said, the words didn't mean anything to me. My sister was honestly dead to me since she wanted to throw me in lockup. I slowly arose off my bed and walked out the door to be escorted by Reid deeper into the facility.
Reid was walking a little bit ahead of me, this was the first time I was actually walking with him and I wasn't in chains or restraints. He stopped me outside a door and opened it for me. The room was pitch black and I saw nothing inside the room. I turned my head back towards Reid, he motioned for me to enter. I took in a deep breath and walked inside.
The door slammed behind me, I jumped forward as the sound echoed through out the room. I looked around in the darkness. From the darkness came a thrusting fist into my stomach, I grabbed onto my stomach as the pain worsened and I fell to my knees. Then a foot came kicking me from the side and sending me onto the floor, laying down. I called out in the darkness, "Who's there!?" I just heard male laughter.
"Silly Emily, always falling for tricks, always willing to make new friends, always wanting to make things better." The voice said, I clenched at my stomach as I worked my way to my feet. "Who are you!?" I cried out, he continued to laugh at me. I felt a foot kicking my heel and knocking me off my feet, then an elbow into my stomach. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!?" I yelled out, no response. No laughter. Nothing. I started coughing real bad that what I think was blood was on my hand. "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" I cried out again.
Two gray eyes lit up on the other side of the room, "What do I want?" He asked. The figure walked closer to me, I backed up into what felt like a corner as he approached me closer. He was inches from my face. His eyes looking into mine. "You to die."
I jerked up, breathing heavily and I was covered in sweat. I checked around the room to see if I was alone and I was. Wouldn't know why I wouldn't be anyways. I took the shirt off that my sister lent me and I walked over to the mirror that was in my cell. I wiped the sweat off my brow with the shirt and tossed it over my shoulder. I leaned over the sink that was below the mirror. I stared down the sinks drain getting lost in my train of thought. I looked up at myself in the mirror and my immediate reaction was to just punch it. My fist slammed into the glass, then it slowly started dripping blood from the mirror. I drew my fist back and put it back on the sink ledge. I let out a deep breath and started crying.
I backed up against the wall and slid down it, my face in my hands. Blood getting in my hair that I just cleaned. I curled up into a small ball and let it all out. I was too tired to do this, I was too tired to carry on, I was just too tired.
There than was a knock at my cell door. I didn't answer, I tried to stop crying so they wouldn't hear me. Another knock at the door. "What..." I asked quietly, "It's Captain Reid, may I enter?" He asked, I sighed. I didn't want to say yes but I knew I couldn't say no either, "yeah... Whatever.." I answered. The cell door slid open and Captain Reid stepped in, "Your fri- Are you okay!?" He asked. "I'm fine.." I answered, wrapping my fist up in my shirt. "... Let's get you down to the medical bay." Reid helped me up to my feet, took off his uniform jacket and laid it over my back to cover me up some. "Let's get going." He said.
On our way down soldiers threw up salutes at Reid as we passed them through the halls. "I take it as your well respected here." I said, head still hanging low. "Being the Director's left hand Captain of her MTF has it's perks. I'm not gonna lie. But respect is earned, you don't just get it automatically around here." He said, the thought of what he just said circled through my head. He was right and I didn't want to admit it, respected is earned, not something gained automatically. "How long have you been here Captain?" I asked, he looked back at me and gave a small smile. "25 years Emily, but I've only been at this base for five. I used to work for your father as his head of security but when he retired your sister put me in charge of Epsilon-11." He answered, I looked down at my hand that was blood soaked and then up at Reid. "Did my father ever talk about me?" I asked, Reid sighed. "Everyday, your picture was in his wallet, every year he tried to get a new picture of you and keep it in there but, when you overheard about The Foundation protocol and everything, that's when we had to make you into a D-Class personnel and by that time your sister was already in charge, but your sister swore up and down to your father that nothing bad would ever happen to you. So is your father a dead beat like you think? In a way, yes. He was never there for you because in his line of work, The Foundation came first. But he never stopped loving you Emily."
