And They Did It Again

ASHLEY’S PERSPECTIVE

Ah, finally! Home, sweet home, I felt relieved. My comfy couch and my own hot chocolate was bliss! I was back from the hospital and I had a day off from work. Annabeth had picked me up from the hospital and dropped me at home. She offered to stay with me for the night, but I declined politely because I wanted to be alone and clear my mind. I shuddered to imagine what would’ve happened if Blake had not found me missing at the right time. Blake…

What was he about to say in the hospital? Why was he so concerned? The way he held my face… I could still feel his warm touch.

My mind immediately steered to the conversation Annabeth and I were having in her car when she was dropping me at my place.

“He likes you, Ash. Very much, indeed.” Annabeth had said.

“How can you be so sure?” I had asked.

“Nathan told me. Apparently, during our dance classes, Blake vented out his frustration when he saw you and Roy dancing and when you were laughing at his jokes. He confided in Nathan that he likes you, a lot. I know you do too, so don’t deny it.”

“I don’t think I’ll be able to deny it anymore. I do like him. I always did, but I was scared to tell him. I don’t think I’ll be able to tell him anymore after what he has done for me. I thought he always saw me as a friend and nothing more.

“Well, not anymore. You should have seen his face when he picked you up from that room. His face was contorted with pain and he looked so vulnerable.”

“I don’t know what to say.”

“You know what you have to say. Tell him the truth.”

          “I_I can’t. I mean, I need time”

“Take all the time you need but, make sure you’re not too late.”

Annabeth’s words rang in my ears for a long time. Does Blake really like me? Or is it just everybody’s perception?

JUNE’S PERSPECTVE

It’s Christmas all over again!  Michael and I were acting like two kids waiting for Santa. Aryan was Santa Claus here and Michael was the uninvited guest. Yeah, he came even after I told him not to. Rhea would get suspicious and she was already throwing us wary looks from where she sat on the couch.

“Are you both waiting for me to go to sleep so that you can make out or something?” she asked with a disgusted expression. I’m sure I mirrored her facial expression after that statement of hers.

“Ew! Rhea, how can you even say such a thing? We were just whiling our time away,” I told her.

“Rhea, you are underestimating us. We have already taken it to THE level, if you know what I mean,” Michael said and winked.  He nudged me jokingly and I put on a poker face and said, “Ha ha, very funny. Now, would you mind shutting that big trap of yours?”

After that he kept quiet, thankfully. All of us turned towards the TV, but only one of us watching it intently. At that moment, the doorbell rang. The glorious doorbell! The sound was as melodious as….I know, too much drama. Michael and I jumped from the couch and ran towards the door, not concerned about Rhea’s reaction. Michael reached the door first and opened it. Aryan stood there bewildered. He put his hands in his pockets and greeted us with a meek, “Hey.”
