Chapter 6
Final Baseball Game of the Season
Huaaatchamacallit Stadium
2:30 pm | Ella

The game is going to start in about half an hour when Grace, Ricky and I finally found a parking space. We immediately got out of the car and pushed ourselves through the crowded stadium. Every corner of the stadium were filled with high school students from our school, and the rival school. I took out my phone and texted Chance that we've just arrived. A few second later I received a text back saying to look behind me.

I turned around and saw them standing by the aisle of the third row, directly behind the dugout. Grace and Ricky each grabbed my wrist and ran down immediately after seeing Chance wave over at us.

"Girl! I spy with my little eyes, daddy Evan!" Ricky squealed.

"Yeah with his girlfriend."  Grace teased.

Ricky rolled his eyes and said, "Who? Never heard of her."

Grace and I laughed. Once we reached them, I've noticed some familiar faces sitting on the fourth row. My eyes grew, then my lips turned to smirk.

"Studying huh?" I said, turning to look at my deceitful older brother.

"What are you doing here?" Charles asked, looking just as surprised as I was.

Earlier today, I asked him if he wanted to go to the baseball game with me and my friends. He told me that he didn't want to "babysit" a bunch of kids, and that he'd rather study back at his dorm. What a fricking liar!

"Sticking to my words, you?" I asked, as I smiled mockingly.

He just rolled my eyes and turned back to... Tiffany the diner girl? Damn! He scored a date?! Respect.

"You know him?" A guy asked, walking up to us with a bunch of hot dogs in his arms, pressed against his chest.

"Yeah, he's my brother." I said, shooting a glare at him.

The guy hits Charles on the shoulder as he passed everyone a hot dog. "I didn't know you had a sister."

"I usually pretend she doesn't exist." He said in a monotone voice before turning back to give his undivided attention to his date.

"Ella, this is our cousin Eric. Eric this is Ella." Chance introduced. Eric and I shook hands.

"So you're the famous Ella I've been hearing about." Eric said with a smirk. Chase and Chance both cleared their throat.

He's heard about me? Did he know that I poured a glass of milkshake on his cousin? Wait, do they talk about me?

"If you two are going to talk, go somewhere else and leave. Game's starting." Chase said. Figures. I should've known that he wouldn't change his rude self.

We walked towards the middle of the row and each took a seat. I immediately saw Ricky take the seat next to Evan, Grace sitting on his right, Eric next to her. Before I could take a seat, Charles stood up suddenly, calling my name.

"Dad wants us back at the house." Charles said, tucking his phone in his back pocket.

"Why?" I asked, confused. We just got here and now we have to leave?
