Chapter 8
First Period of the Day, Home Ec
8:03 am | EllaHonestly, I would totally love Home Ec if it weren't for Natasha. Something about her just makes my blood boil. Don't you just ever look at someone and immediately have this urge to high-five them, in the face, with a chair? No, just me? I'm pretty sure we've all felt this way about someone.
The bell just rang and everyone started coming into the classroom. As my eyes catches sight of the door, I see Chase about to walk in when Natasha grabbed his wrist.
They weren't in hearing distance so I really couldn't make out what they were saying but after exchanging a few words, I can tell Natasha was not happy by what she just heard. She pushed passed Chase and glared at me as she walked in. What's her problem?
Chase made his way towards the seat next to me, pushing others out of his way. He threw his bag on the desk and placed his left cheek on top of it. He closed his eyes and I looked away. Don't stare, weirdo, I mentally reminded myself.
Unaware that I was actually doing it, I soon realized I was already staring. There's something about him that's drawing me in and I don't know what it is. He's rude, obnoxious, a smart ass, incredibly good looking, jawline on po-- NO! Stop it, Ella!
I looked away quickly and repeatedly slapped my forehead, yelling 'stupid' in my head. Ms. Green finally walked into the classroom and everyone settled down. Behind her were a few students and staff members each carrying large boxes with them and placing them all on her desk in the front of the class. Murmurs started to arise from the students.
"What's in the boxes?" A girl asked.
"Condoms?" A boy answered.
"Can we take some home? I'm going to need that for later." Another guy responded.
My eyes popped wide open and my jaw nearly touched the floor. Did they just sa-- they're joking right? Right?! Oh God, my virgin ears.
I suddenly heard a faint chuckle coming from my right side. I turned my head and I saw Chase mocking what seemed to be my face. He purposely made his eyes big and faked being shocked. I squinted my eyes and glared at him. He scrunched up his face and stuck his tongue out.
"What are you, 5?" I asked, still glaring. Trying to stare deep into his soul, which was a fail because he obviously didn't have one.
"What are you, 5?" Chase said in a very high-pitched tone.
"I do not sound like that!" I said, offended.
He mocked me once again and I just rolled my eyes then turned my attention to Ms. Green. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with a fricking 5 year-old.
Ms. Green grabbed an Expo-marker and wrote on the white board behind her. The letters read: Parenthood.
"Okay so today class, we will be starting a new unit. In this unit we'll be taking about the preparation to parenthood and teen pregnancy." Ms. Green began as she walked in front of the rows, passing out papers.
"Can someone tell me one reason that causes teen pregnancy? What about Mr. Santiago?"
He leaned back in his chair and without hesitation, muttered one word.
