"G-Gamzee...?" Nepeta squeaked as she backed away.
"What's wrong, kitty? Scared of little Gam Gam?" Gamzee snickered as he took another step closer, causing Nepeta to take another back and fall down with a yelp.
"N-no, stay away!" She ordered as she crawled backward until she bumped into a wall. She glanced to the wall and back to the troll who was now towering over her. He chuckled lowly as he raised his club, ready to hit.
Nepeta prepared for impact, ready to accept her fate...when the blow never came. She opened an eye and saw Karkat on top of Gamzee.
"Don't fucking touch her!" He yelled as he held up a sickle. Gamzee grabbed Karkat's wrist, not fazed by anything. He had a smug grin on his face as he flipped the other onto his back, wrenching the sickle from his hand and throwing it to the side.
Karkat watched the weapon as it clanked against the hard floor. He was too distracted to notice Gamzee pin his hands above his head. "Nice try..." He whispered lowly into his ear, sending shivers down the other's spine.
Nepeta watched before standing. "Gamzee...please...I know you're in there..." She mumbled, voice shaking, threatening to crack.
Gamzee froze before his eyes flicked to her, letting out a chuckle. "Nepeta, was it?"
She blinked, holding her hands to her chest, sleeves covering them. "Y-yes...?"
"Your poor little friend's gone, Hun..."
"Liar..." She muttered, her head down, her bangs covering her eyes. Green tears were streaming down her face. "Liar!" She screamed louder, drawing her hand back and slashing her claws across his face, leaving three long gashes.
Gamzee was shocked, staring off to the side. He blinked and looked over to her. "N-Nep...?"
Her eyes widened. "Gam Gam?"
He blinked again, furrowing his eyebrows. "Yeah...ow..." He ran his fingers along the marks that were bleeding by now. "What happened?"
She stood for a moment before running over and hugging him. "Gamzee!"
"Wh-Nep? What's wrong?"
"I thought you were gone!" She said in a cracked voice between sniffles.
"G-gone? What do you mean?"
"It...it happened..."
"What...? N-no one's hurt, right?!"
Nepeta was silent, gripping his shirt and hanging her head. "Kanaya...Vriska...and..." She took a long pause, knowing how he would react if she told him, but she had to. "Tavros..." She choked out.
"No...it can't..." Gamzee's eyes began to water, shaking his head slowly. "No...Tav...no!" He covered his ears and kept yelling that one word.
Finally snapping out of his daze, Karkat stood and stepped over to Gamzee. "Gamzee!" He grabbed his shoulders and shook him.
Gamzee's eyes shot open, full of indigo tears before his hands dropped to his sides. He stayed silent for a while before falling to his knees, staring at his hands which were covered in blue, jade and orange colours. "No..."
