"How's he doing?"
"He hasn't come out in two weeks..."
"Fuck...he'll die in there."
There was a sigh and the voices grew more distant.
Gamzee glanced away from the ceiling and to the door, letting out a sigh before sitting up. He hadn't left that room for two weeks. Ever since...that.
He stared at the floor for a moment before standing, taking a deep breath and walking to the door. He stared at the knob for a moment, taking another deep breath before turning the knob and pushing the door open, closing it behind him. He pressed his back to it and glanced down the hallway.
Voices came from a room at the end of the hall, talking and laughing. He poked his head in, seeing everyone talking and making jokes, some seeming drunk. He slipped into the room, undetected.
"Wait, I got one." Karkat started, holding his hand up as a stop signal, causing everyone to fall silent. "This one was Gamzee's favourite. Okay, knock knock."
"Who's there!?" Nepeta chirped, happily going along with his joke.
"Surprise."
"Surprise who!?"
"Surprise mother fuckers." Gamzee finished before Karkat could reply, causing everyone to whip their heads to him.
"GAM GAM!" Nepeta squealed as she tackled him to the floor. Gamzee chuckle and hugged her as she rubbed her face on his chest.
Karkat walked over, his hands resting on his hips. "Decided to come out?"
Gamzee chuckled again, nodding. "Yeah..."
Karkat smiled and held a hand out to him. He happily took the gesture and was hauled to his feet, Nepeta hanging on his arm.
Everyone greeted him with a smile and a bro hug, the girls giving him a kiss on the cheek before returning to their doings.
Karkat managed to pry the cat off of him, only to have her cling to him instead. Aradia had to pull her off of him and to the table.
Karkat tugged on Gamzee's hand and led him down the hall.
"Where we goin, Karbro?"
"You'll see..." He had a bit of a smile as they walked.
A moment or so later, they arrived at an orange door at the end of the hall, causing Gamzee to stop in his tracks and stare at it.
"Open it." Karkat demanded.
Gamzee shook his head and backed to the wall. "No...no, I c-can't..."
"Trust me." Karkat said with a smile, taking his hand and pulling him toward the door.
Gamzee froze as he stared at the knob, indigo tears threatening to fall from his eyes as he hesitantly placed his hand to the knob, slowly turning it and cracking the door open before letting go and backing away.
"There it's open bye!" He turned to leave but was stopped. He turned his head to see none other than Tavros, holding his wrist and smiling.
"Hey, bro."
Gamzee stared, the tears now spilling down his cheeks. "T-Tav...?"
Tavros smiled and nodded. "Yep!~"
Gamzee was speechless, blinking and staring at him. "But...I thought..."
Tavros chuckled and shook his head, pulling him into a hug.
"I'm so sorry...I'm sorry..." Gamzee muttered into Tav's shoulder, gripping his shirt and breathing in his scent, which he missed so much.
"It's okay..." Tavros whispered softly. "I forgive you."
Karkat smiled and ran down the hall and into the other room. "Did you do it?" Vriska asked with a grin.
Karkat nodded, smiling widely. "Yep. And he's crying like a fucking grub."
They all giggled and he laughed as well. "Our turn soon, huh, Kanaya?" Vriska turned her attention to Kanaya, who had her arms crossed over her chest.
She nodded and allowed a smile to curve her lips. "Yes...Im assuming he was miserable?"
Nepeta nodded. "Yeah...he wouldn't come out of his room for two whole weeks..." She said sadly.
The two chuckled as Tavros poked his bull horned head into the door. "Ready?" He whispered. Vriska and Kanaya nodded in reply.
At that, Tavros pulled Gamzee into the room with a wide grin on his face. The juggalo glanced up to see Vriska and Kanaya standing in front of him with smiles. He stared before hugging them.
They both chuckled and hugged him back as he muttered apologies over and over.
"It's okay, Gamzee..." Vriska said softly.
Kanaya giggled and kissed his cheek. "We forgive you..."
Tavros chuckled and watched them, smiling.
"Yo, Tav." Karkat nudged him.
"Hm?"
"You like Gamzee, don't you?" He asked teasingly, cocking an eyebrow and flashing a smirk at him.
Tavros blushed heavily, his cheeks dusting with mandarin. "What? No! He's my bro! I like him as a friend!" He objected.
Karkat just chuckled. "Yeah right. I can see right through that."
"I don't!" He objected once again.
"If you say so~" Karkat sang as he danced away, leaving a flustered Tavros with his arms crossed over his chest and his shoulders raised slightly. He glanced up to see Gamzee in front of him.
"You okay, Tav?" He asked as he leaned closer, poking Tav's cheeks that were tinted with mandarin, only making it worse for him.
"Y-yeah! I'm fine!" Tavros replied happily, his heart pounding.
"How come I don't believe you?" Gamzee asked in a low tone, tilting Tav's face up to his.
"U-uh-I-"
