Somehow I managed to make another chapter much earlier than I anticipated. Hahaha ^^'

"How's your birthday been so far Miwa?" Kai asked his friend through the computer.

"It's been amazing! I got so many cool things from my parents this morning! I got tickets to London Eye so we're going there after lunch. The weather is amazing too!" Miwa smiled as he looked through his bag. "How's your day been Kai?"

Kai sighed and leaned back against his chair. "The same as usual. School is much more boring now when you aren't here to annoy me. Morikawa just pisses me of."

"Haha I didn't know you missed me this much. I almost feel flattered.''

''Whatever.''

''By the way, how's your family? I know they have been pretty busy as of late."

Kai crossed his arms in a lighter form of irritation. "It's the same. They never change. They have been home more for a couple of days though. It's always a start."

Suddenly a lightning struck outside of his window which made Kai's computer flash white for a second.

"Bad weather again?" Miwa grinned.

Kai nodded. "It's been like this since afternoon. School ended earlier because of the storm."

It had actually been raining since last day but it only began to storm during afternoon. Kai had just managed to get inside his house when the first lightning struck.

"Man what luck! So you haven't been able to meet Aichi and the others today then?"

''Sadly, no. And it sucks.''

''Haha I could only imagine!'' Miwa laughed. Kai glared at him but it didn't have the same effects from a computer so he simply gave up.

"Well I gotta go before the storm turns my computer to ash. And happy birthday again Miwa."

"Thanks!" The blonde grinned before he turned off the chat. Kai turned off the chat and was about to turn off his computer when another lightning suddenly struck down in the house. A wave of electricity hit him. Kai yelled in pain and that's when it happened. A picture flashed within his mind. A picture of an unknown face. He fell down to the ground and held his head in shock.

"What just happened..? Who..who was that?"

The door was suddenly jerked open and a strong light lighted up the blackened room, blinding the owner.

"Toshiki what happened?! We heard you scream, are you alright?!" His mother asked as she searched for a wound.

"I'm fine mom. You don't have to worry so much." Kai said as he pushed away his mother's hand away from his head.

"Man that lightning really caused a mess. It struck out the electricity in the whole house. I'm gonna check the basment to see if I can locate the problem.''

''I'm coming with you.'' Kai stood up but was stopped by his mother.

''You are not going anywhere untill I have examined that head of your's. You stay here.'' She stomped out of the room with the husband in tail.

Kai angrily crossed his arms and sat back down on the chair he fell of just a few minutes ago.

''Kukukehehehe..''

Suddenly he heard the most disturbing laugh in his entire life which made his spine go cold. He jerked up his phone from his pocket and used it as a flashligt to lit up the room.

''Who's there?''

He came across a figure standing in the corner beside his open door, staring right at him with a wicked smile. It took a step and Kai found himself taking a step backwards. That's when the lamp in his ceiling turned back on. He forced away his eyes from the figure and looked at his lamp then quickly looked back to the figure only to see an empty space. Kai let out a breath he didn't know he held and sunk back to the floor, gasping for breath.

"We managed to get the electricity back going." His mother suddenly appeared out from nowhere and Kai couldn't stop himself from yelling in surprise and turned to face her with a horrified look.

"..Is something the matter hon? You look like you have seen a ghost." She said and walked in to the room.

''It's nothing.. nothing at all..'' he managed to say in between gasps. ''What was that? Was it just my imagination playing tricks on me?''

''You must have hit your head harder than I thought..'' Kai's mother said and attempted to examine his head once again when the brunette turned to her.

''I said I'm fine.''

''You don't look so fine to me. And why did you suddenly scream at me when I came? I'm not that scary, am I?''she laughed at her own comment.

Kai became quiet and looked back to the spot he last saw the creepy figure.

''..I saw something..''

''What did you see?''

''..I don't know. Probably my imagination..'' he said.

The figure he saw continued to haunt his mind for the rest of the evening. And throughout dinner he felt as if someone was watching him from behind. He glanced back multiple times but none was there. The feeling lasted everywhere he went which made him anxious and it only grew worse when he got to his room. It was as if someone - invinsible from the naked eye, was standing in his room and that's when the haunting image of that mysterious figure returned.

But the most terrifying thing happened at night. When he had just gone to bed and closed his eyes he could feel a presence beside him and then something stroke his hair in a gentle manner. For a disgusting reason, it felt reassuring and he could swear he herd a voice whisper in his ear;

''I promise to protect you.'' before he fell asleep.

I hope I made that scary enough!

It's only the first chapter and things have already begun. I wonder what will happen next?

Until next time!
