Sorry for the wait!
-"Man that storm yesterday was scary as hell. Nagisa's cat hid under the sofa for hours and refused to get out." Kamui said as he drew a draw trigger from his deck.
"Yeah. A lightning struck down in our neighbour's tree that almost fell on his house." Aichi agreed as he placed a rear guard in the guard circle.
Kai and Misaki sat down at the sidelines, watching the friendly match. Kai on the other hand had been distant the entire day. He couldn't stop yesterday's activity to play in his mind like an endless lop. What had transpired before his eyes seemed so real yet like a horrified dream. But what was the most disturbing was the stare - like a dagger getting plunged into his back over and over. He had occasionally glanced behind him throughout the day but found none. It was almost like something was hidding in the dark - waiting for an upportunity to strike.
"Did something happen at your place, Kai-kun?"
Complete silence was all that followed the question. For the brunette had not registered the question asked. His mind was to for away for being concious about his surroundings.
"Kai-kun?!"
Kai was brought out of his thoughts from yesterday and turned his attention to his friends who was all staring at him.
"..Is something wrong?"
"Oh no I just asked if something happened at your place yesterday." Aichi said with a hint of surprise in his voice. Kai had never ignored him before - eh well, not since he beat PSYquallia.
"Lightning struck down in our house which cut of our electricity. Dad got it fixed. And then-" He suddenly cut off himself. He was just about to tell them about the experiencess he had. What would they think if he told them he was hit by electricity and then suddenly he began to hear and see things which could easily be his mind playing tricks? That he is crazy? A sick maniac? No, it would be best to be quiet about it.
"And then what?" Misaki asked.
''It's nothing. Forget I said anything.''
Aichi and Misaki exchanged looks of confusion while Kamui continued his attacks against Aichi as if nothing was out of the ordinary. Kai couldn't stop himself to glance back outside once more and that's when he saw it. Black hollow eyes was staring at him just outside the shop window. He couldn't make out it's form, or rather he couldn't tear himself away from it's eyes. It was almost like as if an unknown force drew him in and he suddenly felt drowsy, like he was put under a sleeping spell as happens in a manga. He couldn't see the wide grin spreading on the creature's face as he stared back at it.
"Hey Kai-kun! Are you alright?!" Aichi said as he shook Kai's shoulders.
"Huh?" Was all the brunette managed to say as he somehow managed to avert his gaze to Aichi as if nothing had just happened. He looked back outside the window but no one was there.
"You've been acting wierd this afternoon. Did something happen yesterday?" Misaki asked.
Kai laughed awkwardly as if he was a child who got caught by his parents. "N-no, not at all.."
"Did you just laugh!" Kamui yelled horrified.
"It sounded more like an awkward laugh to me." Misaki said as a matter of fact.
"Indeed." Aichi agreed. Kamui muttered something akeen to 'taking his side as usual, brother Aichi' and went back to do whatever he was doing.
Kai hid his grin and after he collected himself he continued "I've just been feeling.. paranoid lately."
"Paranoid? Why?"
"Believe me, you wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Try us."
Kai sighed. "If you really wanna know that badly.. Since yesterday when the power in my house got cut I felt someone watching me. I've felt it since." He left out the parts when he got hit by the lightning and when he saw that strange creature in his room.
"Like a stalker?" Kamui asked as he suddenly felt intrest in the story.
Kai huffed. "You could say that."
"Have you told your parents?"
"You kidding me? If I told them of this they would worry themselves to death. They wouldn't let me out of the house alone and they probably wouldn't even let me be alone if my room."
"They aren't that bad." Aichi said. He had met Kai's parents multiple times but they never appeared to him as just described. Which decent parent don't care about their child? It's only naturall.
Kai huffed once more. "You don't know them like I do."
"I have never met your parents, how are they like? You know what don't tell me. I could only imagine. They are probably like you, all grumpy and cold." Kamui grinned teasingly.
"Yup but worse."
The afternoon continued with small talks and a few friendly matches of vanguard and just like that it was closing time. Kai walked in the now darkened streets with nothing more than streetlamps to guide him. He really felt the need of calling his father if he could take him with him before he went home for the evening but decided against it. Instead he went to the usual park and decided to take a nap for a few moments. But just as he layed down he couldn't find any pleasant position to relax in and sighed as he sat up. He closed his eyes and inhaled deep before letting it out.
"Let us in. I know you want to~"
Kai's eyes flung open and he jumped into a standing position and scanned his surroundings but as usual no one was there. The park was empty. There was just he and his shadow. Yup just he and his shadow. He stared at his shadow and his eyes widen when he suddenly saw a shadow beside his own and turned around as quickly as he could only to stare into a pair of brown bloody eyes. The shook made him scream and he fell to the ground. Kai hyperventilated as he tried to calm his racing heart.
"What's.. what's going on..?"
