Prologue

Katie's Pov

  I can't believe it. After 6 years of teasing and pranks, Travis Stoll and I are together.
   Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Katie Gardener. I'm 16 years old, and Head Councilor of Demeter Cabin.
  So anyways, 6 years ago, when my so called family kept ignoring and treating me like sweet honey iced tea, I ran away to Camp Half Blood. And ever since then I've never left camp. This is where my family is. My home.
  For the past 6 years I've been here, I was teased and pranked by Travis and Connor Stoll, and no they are not twins.
  So about a week ago, Travis actually asked me out. But today, we declared it to the camp (more like told Miranda and Connor and they told everyone). I've liked him as long as I can remember and being with him makes me so happy.
  But anyways, I should go to bed. It's been a long day.

    The next morning, I woke up to pounding on my door. This only happens when Chiron needs to tell me something.
   I quickly got out of bed and ran to the door.
  "Good morning Chiron. What's wrong?" I asked.
  "We have a new camper, she's injured! Come on quickly we only have 2 healers from Apollo's Cabin!" He replied hurriedly.
  "Ok. I'll be there in 2 mins with Miranda."
  "Thank you Katie." Chiron said before going to the big house.
  I closed the door and quickly woke up Miranda. "Miranda wake up, there's a injured new camper!"
  "I'm up I'm up. Just don't go throwing any water on me." She replied getting out of bed.
  I chuckled while getting dressed and brushing my teeth. She always thinks I'm going to, even after 4 years.
We head out the door and run to the infirmary. When we get in there I see Will and Kayla looking down at the new camper.
"So do y'all know what happened to her or how she got here?" I asked.
" All I know is Travis found her on Half Blood Hill while setting up a prank." Will said, not taking his eyes of the girl's arm.
"Huh. Well then what plants do I need?"
"None. Just ambrosia and some gauze. By the looks of it she fractured her wrist."
I head out to the infirmary's closet and get out some gauze, ambrosia, and a ice pack.
  I hand the materials to Will and Kayla, seeing that I'm not needed and head back to my cabin.
  Finally at 2 o'clock, the girl wakes up. "Katie!" I hear my name and its Kayla. "The girl woke up!"
  My eyes widen and I ran to the infirmary. It's normal really, I'm not dramatic.
"Ok your free to go, I'll just find someone to give you a tour around camp." I hear Will say to the blonde.
  " Can I prefer someone of my choice, really. Someone I can trust." The girl said, fluttering her eyelashes. But it's not working on Will, or is it?
  "Well I don't see why not, who?" He replied.
  " That Travis boy, he's cute." She replied innocently.
  Wait a second, she did not just do that. NO CALLS MY TRAV CUTE BUT ME!
  " Ok then, Katie please get your boyfriend for her." He told me, smirking.
  "Sure." I said through clenched teeth. I don't like this girl. Not one single bit.

Why? Why did cheat on me?
Just 2 days ago he told me he loved me. Then I catch him kissing Vanessa, the new Aphrodite girl.

I mean, can't I just have happiness. My dad left me 12 years ago, while I was still living with him, my best friend since we were babies died, and then Travis cheats on me. And there is much more to that.
  I need to leave camp. No one is going to like me more than a friend here. All my happiness here destroyed me. Maybe I can ask Chiron.
