Surprises

Katie Pov

After Chris leaves, I go and try to find boxes. And once I do, I pack everything. Thankfully I only have clothes, a lamp, some gear, toiletries and some paperwork and knick knacks. All of my gear and books were already in boxes so I grabbed my keys and put everything in it.
  On my last trip to the car, I stop at the front desk and ask," Can you please sell my apartment? It's room 23 on floor 4. And whatever's in it, keep it or sell it. And these are the keys." Thankfully Chris left the keys here.
  "It's up for sale! Enjoy the rest of your day." Our receptionist says looking at me pitifully. She must have figured it out.
  I sighed,"I'll try."
  "It'll be ok. Things will get better." She said smiling sadly.
  "I know. See you later. Bye."
  "Bye."

  Once I arrived to Miranda's house I knocked on the door.
  When she answered to gasps," Oh no, Katie what's wrong?"
  "Mind if I stay here for a while?"
  "Sure you can. Come in."
  I walked in and she closed the door. "Want anything to drink?" She asks.
  "No thanks I said quietly.
  I walked to the living room and sat on the couch and curled up in a ball.
  "Please tell me what happened, Katie. Please." Miranda says in a soft tone.
  "I-" I try to talk but I start sobbing again. Miranda pulls me into a hug.
  "Miranda I'm home. Hey Katie what's wrong?" Connor says walking in, sitting on the other couch. Then Travis walks in afterwards and sits right beside me.
  I stopped crying, just a little bit, and explain. "When I got home early today, I caught Chris with someone else. I was going to tell him that I'm-" I couldn't take it anymore and start crying again but this time Travis hugs to comfort me.
  "Connor I need to talk to you, alone." Miranda says. Pulling him up walking out of the room.
  "Katie it's ok. You deserve better than him." Travis says soothing me.
  "I'm just tired of it happening to me. My life is like a soap opera." It's not really like one. I'm just dramatic.
  "Katie I need to tell you something" He says pulling away.
  "What is it?"
  "The day you caught Vanessa and I kissing, well she kissed me. She told me you cheated, and she said for me to give you a taste of your own medicine. I wasn't sure if it was true or not. Then she kissed me. I did kiss her back but only for a second, then I realized she used charm speak to trick me and split us. And ever since then I'd never stopped loving you, because I always have." He says looking into my eyes.
  "Travis I need time. I just about to get divorced." I say looking down.
  "I understand, take all the time you need. I'm always right here for you."
  I smiled just a little,"Thank you." I said then pulled him into a hug.
  Now that was a little surprise.
