You wake up moaning. "Ugh, why does my head feel like it's been hit with a frying pan?"

"That's probably because it was." Pidge's head pops in your line of vision and you blink hazily up at her.

"Oh, hello, Coran." You wave.

Pidge winces. "Yeah, you were definitely hit too hard. I'm going to have to come up with a new way of anesthetic." She slides out of view and you shake your head a little.

"My bad," You hear Hunk laughing nervously.

When you look back up, Lance is peering over you. "Hey, man. How do you feel?"

"First off, don't call me man. I'm very obviously a girl. And second, I don't know. How am I supposed to feel?" You slur.

"You can help her sit up, Lance." Pidge says from somewhere in the room.

"Alright," Lance's cool hands slip under you and help you up.

You look around in a daze. You're in a strange room. The only people with you are Hunk, Pidge, and Lance. "What happened?"

"Here, drink this." Pidge shoves something in your hands.

You oblige, gulping it down. Suddenly, all your senses come to life. You instantly snap out of your daze. Your body feels like it's on fire and your mouth feels like it's dying. You immediately spit the drink out.

"Oh my God!" You wipe your mouth with your right hand. "What is that?"

"It's a special tonic I came up with." Pidge pushes her glasses up, standing in front of you.

"Yeah, it's real special, alright." Hunk teases.

Pidge continues, ignoring him. "There's lemon, orange, food goo, mint, and a little chili and beans."

"That's horrible." You take another small sip and gag. "Do I detect some parsley?"

"Oh, yes! And parsley."

"Absolutely disgusting." You put your glass aside. "So now what?" You drum your fingers on the table on which you sit, and swing your legs back and forth over the edge.

They all look at you expectingly.

"Am I missing something?" You pull your right arm in front of you and stretch it. Suddenly, you freeze.

You let go of your arm and stare at it. You flex your metal fingers, bend it at your metal elbow. You look down. You wiggle your metal toes.

"It worked." You swallow, feeling tears coming on. "You guys did it."

"Yeah," Pidge laughs, and crying she hugs you around the middle.

Hunk embraces you tightly. Lance is the last one to hug you, a huge smile on his face. He lingers a bit longer than the other's do before letting go.

"I can't believe it," You sniff. "I can walk again." You slide off the table and go to take a step, but fall forward. Lance darts forward to catch you. You land in his arms.

You look up at him, his hold on you firm. He smiles down at you. "Careful."

"You won't be able to move around as much as you'd like," Hunk says. "At least, not yet,"

"The surgery was successful, but you have to take it easy and do some rehabilitation." Pidge pulls out a clipboard and writes something on it. "Tell me, how do you feel? Body and pain wise."

"I guess I feel kinda sore." You rub your left hand over where metal connects to your flesh. You wince. "It hurts a little."

"That's to be expected." Pidge scribbles something else down. "You should be happy you were knocked out for the worst parts though. Like when we had to connect your nerves."
