Chapter 4 - After Mikasa's Death

Titan Era ~ After Mikasa's death

Eren and Levi; with bodies trailing behind them. The boys walked inside the walls, no one by their side apart from dead, lifeless bodies of Commander Erwin, Armin and Mikasa. No one. Tears followed him as soldiers ran up to him. Connie ran up to him.

'Eren, where's Sasha and the others?' he asked unable to steady his voice.

'They... they were too many titans, they all died.' Eren said with guilt and worrisome. Levi was to tried to stop them.

'You, IDIOT, you had your titan form you should have protected them.' Connie cried. He noticed the 3 bodies behind him.

Connie rushed to the bodies searching for a certain body. He undressed the brown clothe that wrapped around the bodies. He unwrapped Mikasa, shock dressed on Connie's face. 'Even the strongest soldier died.' he thought in his confused head. He was disappointed to see that Sasha wasn't there.

'You jerk, Eren, Where's Sasha!!' Connie punched Eren who was so motionless. Connie ran to a near horse and started to go outside the walls on search for Sasha. (A/N: Adding some Sasha x Connie cuz..)

Connie has approximately rode for 10 minutes and at last, he saw blood everywhere; blood on the grass on the tress. Luckily there was no titans, he searched for Sasha. He rode in circles. As he was about to give up, He heard a body fall from a tree. It was dead girl, with a brown ponytail, pale skin. Instantly Connie ran to the lifeless girl. As he saw the girl tears formed his face and unexpectedly big stomps of heavy feet echoes in the boy's ear. He carried Sasha and got up on his horse. He hit the horse signalling that it was time to go and make it fast. The titan ran after him. He rushed back to the walls. 5 minutes quickly ticked and he can see the wall. He shouted at loud as he can and people heard. Connie held Sasha's hand and kissed it. He held it tight almost about to break it. People started to come to him to help him but setback crawled to them.

The titan stepped on Connie's feet and the horse. Connie was laying in the ground as he hassled to breathe with Sasha beside him. He held on to Sasha's hand tightly. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. He brought it down. Tears streamed down unstoppable. The titans feet accidentally stepped on the couple. Connie died with Sasha beside him. Everyone though that they'll be living happily and they did. With a short life and relationship, they were able to spend together happily.

Eren rushed to Queen after the Queen called for him. When Eren arrived he saw a baby in her hand. Eren bowed.

'Eren, I have heard Mikasa died. I'm very sorry. I'm very heartbroken after hearing it.' She started.

'But, there is something you should know, The child I'm holding is Mikasa and your's.'

From that tears slowly formed. His child. Such a beauty like her mother. Historia handed the baby in Eren's hand. Historia got a letter from one of her guards after she turned to one of them. She put the letter in Eren's pocket on his jacket.

'Read it once you get to Mikasa's home. One of my guards will lead you there.' She said. Historia's voice was so shaky she couldn't get over the fact that Mikasa died. Eren and another guard headed outside the castle.

Eren was at last in front of Mikasa's door. He opened the door and it creaked in the silence. Inside the house was a bed and brown, clean cradle and also some clothes. Eren walked to the cradle and gently placed the baby. He took the letter out and started to read.

Dear Eren,

You are reading this when I am no longer around. I have asked Historia to give you this once I'm died. I'm sorry. The baby Historia has given to you (or Hange) is yours. Her name is Erena Ackerman. I've named it after you. Please take care of her. I'll be fine where I will be. Don't be upset that you'll be alone. Stay healthy for the Erena. Don't let your sadness take over you. Please take care of her like how I've taken care of you. Stay alive for her like how I've stayed alive for you. I know your 13 years is nearly over but take care of her as long as you. Train her to be the best of the Ackermans and Jaegers. And when you are gone. Please don't give it some random person please hand it to some trustworthy like Armin, Hange, Historia and maybe even Levi. I love you.

Eren dropped the letter and looked at the baby. He swore to himself that he'll take care of his baby from the bottom of his heart. He promised to take care of her. He carried Erena and the baby woke up. She slowly opened her eyes and the baby smiled, then she laughed. Eren couldn't help it but laugh.

-7 Year Later- April 20

Eren now only has 1 year left before he dies. It's Erena's birthday. Hange san and Historia was the one who helped Eren. Erena was like Mikasa, when she was younger, joyful nothing seemed to bother her. The little girl lived happily with Eren. As for Eren, he never let his sadness bother him he became positive for his daughter. When Erena was 5, he told her about her mother and how Mikasa died.

Will Erena's life be so peaceful? When will she become a true Ackerman? And will she be a titan shiftier?
