Pulling into the school, heads turned. Taking off my helmet and shaking out my hair, I felt eyes scorching their way into my skin. I glanced around and saw some guys staring lustfully at me and girls staring at Lucas. I rolled my eyes and started walking with Lucas to the office. We got our schedules and walked to our first periods.
    Mason POV
Dad came in the door and looked exhausted.
"Where did you go, Dad?" I asked him curiously.
"Alpha business. Doesn't matter, Mase." He replied nonchalantly.
"I thought we decided I was to be going with you to Alpha business. I'm taking over soon, I need to know these things." I told him, hurt that he didn't bring me along.
"It would defeat my purpose. One day you will know, just not today. Ok?" my father asked me with pleading eyes. I nodded in submission and started to head up the stairs when my father spoke up again.
"There's going to be two new students in school on Friday. I want you to make sure they are settling in well. They are staying on our territory, but they're human. I'm taking patrols off from around the west side around their house so there are no chances of them seeing us." I nodded and started heading up the stairs again when he called up again. "Their names are Jack and Lucas." My wolf stirred at the name 'Jack' confusing me. I nodded and said goodnight.
I headed up to my room but continued thinking about the new students. Hoping these two new guys don't give me too much trouble, but with my wolf pacing in my head while thinking about who this Jack guy is, I have a feeling that it's going to a lot more drama than I anticipate.
Heading to school on Friday, my wolf was restless and kept nagging me but I couldn't make out the words he was saying. I saw two new bikes in the parking lot. They were sleek and black. Guessing these belonged to the new boys joining us today, I walked up the steps to go to first period.
"Those bikes are hot!" my wolf purred in my head. I agreed and sat down in my seat.
"Yo! Mason, What is up my man." My soon to be Beta, Jared, sat on my desk and bro hugged me.
"Not much man." I replied to him.
"You going to the party Ethan is throwing tonight?"
"Duh! His pool is open right?" I asked. He nodded.
"You see the news kids?" He asked incredulously. I shook my head no. "Aw dude! They came on these sweet bikes and damn.... The one is seriously hot!" I bunched my eyebrows together. I knew Jared liked to play around with the girls at this school, but hearing him hit on a guy was new to me.
"My dad told me their names: Jack and Lucas." I informed him. A moment of confusion swept over his face and he opened his mouth to say something but the teacher walked in and started to begin class, making Jared walk back to his seat. Not even a minute later there was a knock on the door and the teacher opened it. Two people walked in. The first was a built guy with spiked black hair. His blue eyes swept the room carefully, when his eyes landed on me they lingered slightly but kept moving on to others in the room. He introduced himself to the teacher as Lucas and he went to sit down in the back where there were two empty seats. His leather jacket was over a white t shirt giving him a 'bad-ass' vibe. I heard another voice at the door and I swear my wolf purred in my head. I whipped my head over and there stood a girl in front of the teacher giving her a note. She was wearing black skinny jeans that hugged her all the right places, her combat boots looked worn in. Her silvery top under her black leather jacket reflected into her green eyes, contrasting with the golden hair pulled into a tight, straight pony tail.
"Mate!" my wolf growled in my head. My eyes widened as I sat there. I felt an elbow in my ribs and looked over to see Jared looking at me.
"Didn't I tell you one was hot!" he mindlinked me. I lowly growled at him.
"That is my mate!" I yelled at him through our link. HIs eyes widened and glanced back and forth between us.
"I'm sorry man! I didn't know! He yelled back. I could hear her melodic voice ring through my ears as she spoke to the teacher.
"I'm confused, isn't there supposed to be only two new students?" I asked Jared.
"There is. Lucas and your mate." He replied.
"But my dad told me the names Lucas and Jack. Both are guy names. They are staying on our territory but they're humans so we are pulling our patrols away so they have less of a chance to see us." He looked confused but then shrugged. I saw my mate walking down an aisle of chairs past me, swaying her hips deliciously. Her green eyes met mine and I saw an approving glance in them as she looked at me from head to toe. I smirked at her, my wolf purring that our mate was checking us out. When she passed me, her scent wafted over me. A mix of sweet and earthy. I closed my eyes and inhaled, wanting to wrap her in my arms and bury my face in her neck forever.
"Oh, I didn't get your name sweetie" Our teacher called out from the front of the class to the back where she was about to sit down next to Lucas, but was standing extremely close to him with her hand resting on his shoulder. I growled lowly not liking that she was touching another male. But when she opened her mouth the speak I forgot about her contact with Lucas. She looked  up at the teacher and glanced at me making eye contact.
"My name is Jackelynn" she said maintaining eye contact.
"And there's the Jack your dad was talking about" I heard Jared's voice in my head. Lucas put his hand on the small of her back and I tensed up. "Dude, calm down. They're probably just siblings." Jared's voice filtered into my head. I nodded but kept an eye on them. Lucas glanced at me and I smiled trying to be polite, even though I was caught. All throughout the class, I couldn't focus. Thankfully, the teacher is a werewolf in my pack so she doesn't pay attention to me. When the bell rang I practically jumped from my seat and walked over to talk to her. I stopped at her desk as she was looking at her schedule.
"Do you need any help finding your classes?" I asked. Her eyes snapped to me and her lips pulled into a breathtaking smile. She pushed a strand of hair that surrounded her face behind her ear.
"Sure, that would be sweet." She replied, her lips tantalizing me as she spoke. She looked over at the paper Lucas was holding. "Damnit, why couldn't we have the same schedule Luke." She complained. Such foul words coming from a pretty mouth. He chuckled and looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Probably because they knew if they wanted the school to be still standing at the end of the day, we shouldn't be around each other all the time. Jack, if we had the same classes, I'm sure we would find some way to burn down the school or something." Luca told her with a smile plastered across his face. She laughed at him giving him a knowing look.
"Ok, point taken." She giggled and I swear my heart melted.
    "Jack?" I questioned.
"Ya, only close friends call me that." She answered.
"Dad called her Jack, does that mean she knows him personally?" I nodded, satisfied with her answer.
"Can I see your schedule?" I asked her holding my hand out. She handed it over as we walked out of the classroom, Lucas going the other direction to his class. Looking at her schedule, we had the same classes. I smirked at her.
"We have the same classes. Here, I'll walk you to class." she smiled at me and thanked me. Walking side by side, I felt her arm brush up on me several times. Sparks flew through my skin and by the tiny gasps she let out I knew she could feel them too. Her nose scrunched up in confusion. "Oh, Little Mate... you will know the truth soon..."
"So, my friend is throwing a party tonight." I started. "Are you free tonight?" She looked hesitant for a second but then smiled up at me.
    "I think so." She said.
"You can bring your brother if you want." I told her trying to make her as comfortable as possible. If she knows another person there, especially Lucas. A flash of pain went through her eyes but it was gone as fast as it had come. Her smile faltered but it stayed on.
"Um... Thanks, I'll tell him." She replied.
"Mason, there was another rogue sighting close to the school! We need to go deal with it." Ethan's, voice went through the mindlink. Ethan is my soon to be Gamma. I replied that I would be there soon and looked at Jackelynn just as her phone beeped. Her face went serious and I wanted to kiss away her problem until laughter graced her full lips and the lines on her forehead relaxed.
"I have to go take care of something. The classroom is just at the end of the hall on the right. Can I meet you at the end of class?" I ask her.
"Uh, actually Lucas just told me he needs me, he gets headaches a lot and they get bad. I'll see you next period?" she asked. I agreed and we both went in different directions.
Getting to the scene, I saw Ethan and Jared snarling at three rogues in wolf form. I growled at the rogues.
"What are you doing on my land?" I yelled out, authority in my voice. One of the rogues shifted back and pulled on some shorts.
"We came to see the future Alpha." The rogue smirks at me, mocking my power within the pack. I growled louder at him. Out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw a bush shiver but it must have been the wind. As I was distracted, the rogue took it as a chance and lunged at me. Before I could react, I heard a gun go off and the rogue fell to the side and his body stilled. The other two, still in wolf form looked shocked.
"Leave now, and if I see you on my land again, I will not hesitate to rip your body apart!" I told them, Alpha authority soaking my voice. I guess the wind blew again because the bush shook again. The other rogues growled at me. Wrong move. "Jared, Ethan." I said, giving them permission to kill the rogues. They launched themselves at the rogues and fought them until their bodies laid in the dirt shifting back to their human form.
"Where did that gun shot come from?" Ethan asked after he shifted and pulled on his school clothes from earlier. I looked into the bush closer but there was a noise from the other side of the forest. We all snapped our heads over ready for an attack but it never came.
"Probably a rabbit or something. We really need a break, that party is just what we need." Jared pointed out. The wind shifted and I got a whiff of a sweet and earthy scent. My body relaxed and I looked at the bush again. Walking over, I saw a divot in the earth.
"Mason, you coming?" Ethan called over to me.
"Ya, I'm on my way." I replied and walked up to the school, wanting to have my mate in my arms.
